    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Log INTO your account the Main way though whoever your email is though. Should be hard copy there.

That is info that is stored LOCALLY on your HDD not on the actual mail server (ie gmail, charter, etc...etc..). If you try to download those emails again you will not be able to because they are no longer on the actual mail server (If you have the option to Leave Messages on Server unchecked). Once a message is deleted from the actual mail server it cannot be recovered unless you kept a local copy of it. I just downloaded my mail from my charter account and then logged in via the web interface and those emails are gone. Not in the trash, inbox, or anyplace else. -Rory Rygiewicz

Gmail does not delete them, Just moves them to trash and marked as read, which is why they will not redownload into Thunderbird.

But by default, gmail is set to leave copy in the Inbox as Unread, But the op isnt using Gmail, so theres no way to know if his Provider BellSouth keeps a copy once downloaded or not.

I was curious about how KS viewed what Joe describes, above, I viewed it as fraud but wanted to see how KS perceived this kind of behavior, so I went and looked at their TOS:

Attempting to circumvent this system by registering under the name of a friend, family member, or any form of alias, will cause that account to be immediately terminated, and you will be prosecuted for fraud. Anyone who knowingly assists someone in fraudulently obtaining an account will have their site services canceled and will themselves be banned, and prosecuted for fraud.

Then he (OP) goes to kingsnake and sells it as a "breeder" because an "idiot" sold it to him as a "breeder".

Then he (OP) comes here to complain because he (OP)got caught. :shrug01:

Then his (OP's) craigslist ad coincidentally disappears.

Dude....can you all wait before you butcher him...he said he has it so wait...if he cant produce then have at it....but my god you guys are going crazy for what? Why would anyone come here and post anything if they are going to get attacked....yes you all have attacked him...let him produce his evidence before you send him down the sewer...

If the "idiot" know nothing about tortoises, why would he all of a sudden belive the "idiot" on their claims that the tortoise is a proven breeder?

Michael, several people have said that they have come to their conclusions using other evidence than the emails. Joe himself has said that the emails may not be recovered.

Opinions are fine...but you are attacking him without him being able to defend himself...because he doesnt have the info...the only thing he did stupid here was start the post without having the info on hand...I have been telling him to hold off about starting a thread for a month...since early August...he decided to do it now...he says he will get the information...give him the opportunity to do it...thats it...as far as the Craigslist ad goes...I cant defend that...but that was done after the issue with kingsnake...maybe a dumb ad....but nothing to do with the kingsnake issue...

So then if that is so, that would mean that the guy he got her from was calling the previous owner an idiot.

Or do we know that's an ad that the OP placed?

I assume the ad belongs to the OP since he didn't contest it or answer my request to verify if it was his.

The ad says "16 hours ago" but it has said that all day long so no telling when it was posted or deleted.

He is also using the same pictures on his ads here on Fauna.

I don't believe that is true. At least not for the email accounts I have on various servers and email providers. Thunderbird has a setting that allows the user to either retain the emails on the server, or delete them. And at least in the instances that I checked, yes, they are deleted from the server.

Warning: Secondly, there seems to be a lot of "off the cuff" antagonism and "shoot from the hip" speculation taking place in this thread concerning the OP's statements about his emails. Is that all really necessary here? Aren't some people just making wild assumptions based on little to no evidence?

I'm sorry, but I don't want to see this forum reverting back to the "attack dog" atmosphere that used to be here. Please don't make me have to "pull over" to deal with this.
