In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

It would probably cut out A little shipping cost also. The dimensions of the box they sent me with 4 lights in it is 19x4.5x3.5 and the single box light is 19x3x1 and the dimensions of the actual light itseslf is 18" long and as big round as A quarter.

OK, guys, I'm glad to see that this is working out, but I believe the "nuts and bolts" details now being discussed would be better done via PM or email.

Just here to put in the last entry to this debate, Jim has recently sent me A brand new cage of the same kind, along with perches, heat panel, and it was chemically welded. He also did not charge me for the extra shipping cost for it being assembled. This transaction was very smooth, good communication, and A very nice cage that was flawless!

Thanks to everyone that was part of this thread, whether it was to support Jim, or me. And special thanks to Jim for making it right with me, Thanks Jim!

 Well done Jim!!!! It is good to see your change of attitude. Thanks for the update Josh!

Excellent! Now THAT'S the way to keep customers happy and build a good business/customer base. Sometimes you have to bite the bullet so the bullet doesn't bite you.

Jim, congratulations on making things right with Josh. Hopefully the next customer of yours that has a complaint won't have to wait 6 months for you to make things right and won't have to endure the abuse that this customer did prior to you doing so. I also hope that you realize that blaming others for why you didn't make things right sooner is an excuse and a lame one at that. The "everyone is picking on me" excuse stopped working in elementary school when most people grew up enough to stop blaming others for their actions. Lastly, while I hope the "new you" is in fact you and not someone else with more sense and a cooler temper "speaking" on your behalf in order to falsely misrepresent your true nature.

DanD, It is me speaking for myself, I did what I did because I new I was right in what I sent, I will stand behind what I think is right or wrong, This issue was caused by someone blaming me for something I did not do.

And speaking of abuse, I will not take it as well and this showed what will happen if someone tries it again.
I knew this was coming to this site and it did not change the way I handled it.
I will not back down with threats and being accused of something.

I only made right because of the damaged parts from shipping were he deserved those replacements.

If the many people that posted negative of me would have just sat back and watched in the begging instead of attacking me this issue may have been resolved along time ago.

When a bad guy is posted here you folks think its your job to attack when you had no dealings with that person, you all need to back off and let the 2 people involved work it out..
For your actions I did not come to this site to see what was posted.

So in my eyes you guys were more of the cause then the fix.

So then why didn't you replace what "he deserved" six months ago? Nothing changed from then until now, he deserved it nonetheless but he had to wait six months for you to do the right thing. That is not good customer service no matter how you spin it. :NoNo:

So in my eyes you guys were more of the cause then the fix.

Again, stop transferring the blame. If you are that immature or are lacking the self-control where as something someone else writes causes you to go off the handle in manner in which you did here and have done so previously then you may want to appoint someone who's fuse isn't so short to be your spokes person.

Most of the time if it's made it this far... it's because one of the two parties doesn't want to work it out and has shut down communication.

If a thread is posted a bit premature here... you can bet your :censored: that the OP will know it. I have seen many occasions where the members here have jumped on an OP for jumping the gun and posting.

Don't blame us because of a lack of communication on ya'lls part.

Sir it's obvious you have not learned anything from this experience. What everyone has tried to tell you is now and again every merchant in the world will encounter the unhappy customer. From Beijing to Boston, Brussels' to Benin, Bangladesh to Brazil, any place where commercial activity occur's there will be dissatisfied customer's. Does not matter a hoot who's fault it is, what matter's is how you deal with the issue. Is it possible the customer will exaggerate or out right lie, yes and then some. So what, it happen's and more than likely in your personal life have done the exact same thing. You admit it occur's about once a year, I would be thrilled, thrilled to only have one problem a year dealing with live animal's and shipping across the country. You take everything as some kind of personal vendetta when a customer is unhappy but in reality sometime's stuff beyond your control happen's. Will the rare customer try and get a little more out of the deal, yes but it doesn't happen often. It make's fiscal sense to treat every customer complaint as being legitimate and act accordingly to make said customer happy.

PS I think the OP has been truthful at all times and my example does not apply to him at all.

Because of the way he treated me.
Treat me like dirt and I will give it back.
Not every customer is right and I am not a big corporation and I will not stand for what happened, if you do not like that then no need to buy from me.

Treat me fare and I will treat you fare. what comes around goes around.

if anyone got treated like dirt it was your customer. He bought a product and it came messed up and missing parts. When he tried to rectify the problem you got an attitude and then eventually told him to go buy his missing parts somewhere else. So now he's paying twice for the same parts.

In the end you did take care of this customer, but it took alot to get you to take care of your customer.

Just a thought to consider.....

Those panels that were messed up for whatever reason (talking about the dented ones) probably cost around $100 to replace (guessing at the price but Im probably not too far off). So your out 100 bucks to make it right with this customer....

BUT .... you knew there was gonna be a but right ;)

But the amount of sales you lost because of how you handled this one thread cost you alot more than 100 bucks. In the end... you'd be far ahead just to bite the bullet. You may think that there are those of us out there that just lay down and take it.. but that's not the case. We are looking at the bigger picture.

Wouldn't it just be easier to link back to the beginning of this thread and let any NEW readers decide for themselves how it went rather than hashing over the whole blasted thing all over again? :bandhead0

I know this is pretty much a finished thread but I wanted to make something clear in regards to the Paypal issue. Apparently by default, Paypal these days seems to automatically give a full refund should any complaint be filed and decided in favor of. How do I know this? Because a while back I purchased a book on Ebay for $25 and the shipping was $10 for expedited shipping. Well, I didn't get the book until 3 weeks later and it was shipped 2 weeks after my payment. It was also sent via Media Mail which is the cheapest and slowest method of shipping books and only cost the seller something like $3.50. Obviously this seller was abusing the shipping fees and pocketing the rest of my money so I filed a complaint with Paypal and in the notes I made it abundantly clear that I only wanted $5 refunded to make it more correct of what I should have been charged for shipping originally. Well, Paypal found in my favor and instead of issuing me $5 like I had asked for, they decided to refund me the complete amount I had paid, all $35 of it (cost of item plus shipping). I found this to be a very negligent act upon Paypal and I never did see more than the $3 that they seller still had left in his account (which I would have paid him back had I received the entire amount sans the "extra" shipping). I presume this is exactly what happened in this case as Paypal is pretty automated these days with not a lot of thought put into settling complaints reasonably for either party but less in favor of the sellers. :shrug01:

Glad this was settled satisfactorily for both parties. It's nice when cooler heads prevail and everybody ends up a winner.

I take care of my customers,But if anyone crosses the line and accuses me of something I did not do and I tell them I did not do it and they continually accuse me of it I will end communication with you and be done with you.
If that is not exceptable then Your more then welcome to buy from the other cage guys.
