    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Again, I can vouch for the unbelievable stories by Matt & Ben! I was there when the posts went up, and I was there when they where deleted. Just for kicks, here's a copy of the e-mail Joe sent me after I questioned him about that run of the mill emerald he was trying to pass of as some sort of "1 of 3 in the world" black emerald. I would also include a link to my post in an attempt to remain as objective as possible, but you guessed it, it was deleted! I'm not sure if he banned me from posting after that, because frankly I haven't tried since that day, and have no desire to do so. IMO Joe P is a very strange dude! And his level of honesty should be apparent to everybody by now. I'd stay away! On a lighter note, he didn't threaten to kick my ass yet. Although I'm seriously considering making the trip to Daytona this year just to take him up on his offer of "discussing it in person".

you know i forgot all about that till reading the thread about Joe sending a virus, i think he did that to me as well when he banned people he didnt like for stupid things however let his buddies get away with the same and worse, i emailed him and posted on his boards asking why he was doing thisnext thing i know i am getting viruses in the email and someone had logged into and tried to frag my modem, I cant say for certain it was him but........Ken you rember that we were discussing that in the chat that night lol funny i aint the only
 
I remember that night Jas. It was right after you posted in regards to the subjectivity of the deletion of ads & banning of posters on the arboreal classifieds. We were in the old boa chat on msn, and you kept losing your internet connection.

Then I heard you've got mail. Then I saw it. Joe is just kicking himself in the butt! He has been turned away by many dealers in S. Florida already. As a friend of mine told him when Polanco went behind my back to buy from one of my suppliers, "If you want emeralds, get them from Matt". Oh that hurts!
 
I almost forgot one. The amount of bogus e-mails I got from Polanco was amazing. He would e-mail me as other people and screw with my sales. I appologize to anyone whose e-mail I didn't return from hotmail.com. If Joe was going to mess with the way I make a living, he shouldn't have told people that like me that he was the one sending me the bogus e-mails in order to disrupt my business. Polanco, if you are going to try and rob someone, don't tell their friends. I wonder what kind of slant this guys 'These are my friends Graph has'. My guess is upper left to lower right.

With talk of viruses and fake emails it should be mentioned that Joe Polanco is VERY good with computers.  His website (www.d-g-s.com) was originally dedicated to the sale of computers and computer parts, the name of the company was  Design Group Systems.  After he bought a few emeralds, he magically became an importer/dealer for over 30 years and the name of his business spontaneously became Damon's Glorious Serpent.  Coincidence? Highly Doubt it.  When confronted he never came up with an answer to who "Damon" was...it must have been someone very special since he named his business after the person's Glorious Serpent IMO.

I know who Damon is according to his pompass largeness.  We where setting in Roosters or some chicken wing place a few blocks from Joes house the day I got I my puker from him.  I aksed him how he named his site seeing as his name was Joe.  The answer was this,  " It was named by a business partner of mine who no longer is my partner in Emeralds.  I just didn't feel like changing the name since it had a great following already."  

So this leads to the obvous question, Where's Waldo??  opps I mean Wheres Damon?

Could this just be more BS from the master or does this person really exsist?  I'm sure he will conveniently not remember this conversation too.

Yes, that makes alot of sense.  Since I have known him (around the time he got his 1st emerald) he has never had a partner nor has he ever mentioned one...It's just an incredible coincidence that both his businesses happen to have the DGS acronym, imagine, having the forsight to start a computer business online with the same 3 letters as that of your former partner's reptile business.  The man is talented in ways we will never know.

I'm puzzled. How can a guy seem to know so much about emeralds and breeding them but yet only produce 3 babies in ten times as many years. And if he is so smart medicinally, why a freezer and a room full of dead and sick animals? If he cares about the animals so much why the threat of killing 14 sick emeralds if nobody gives him the correct amount of cash by his deadline. Wouldn't the animals be of some use to zoo vets or college students studying diseases in animals? I think someone with the correct credentials could do better studying them. Polanco, let me know how much you want for them and if it is not out of hand I will buy them and get them into the right hands. Everyone knows you view this forum. Leave your reply here on the BOI and I will send a money Order. Again if the figure is reasonable. Does anyone know of a good university to get these to? Miami?

Gee, Polanco keeps deleating my posts that just show snakes. He really must be sweating it! The two animals he bought from Al Monteo are very nice and he keeps deleating my pics of them. Lets see, he can tell everyone about my snakes and ones that I have pics of and so on. And he makes sure that everyone knows where my snakes are purchased from but when he buys two females from Al Monteo he tries to keep it a secret for some reason. He even told me they definately did not come from Al. Pretty strange when I practicly packed them for him. Hmmmmm. It's funny J.P. that you seem to need to know how many times a day people in the business deficate, but when it comes to your breeding ability or the origin of your babies everything is a big secret.

He got her for about twice as much as I would have (just kidding) but she's still a cool looking snake. Honestly, I know how much but I can't say. Since they are difficult for him to obtain (nice ones anyway) he should be happy with the purchase! Living in Ohio has it's perks though like......... well you know there's.......... well on weekends they get to........oh well I guess it stinks to get animals there. I have now been officially banned from the forum. This comes from Mike and Joe. So I know I am off now. Well I feel I have a cozy home here now.

I have enjoyed posting regularly on Joe's tree boa forum for some time and, while it has it's flaws, overall it is a pretty good, informative forum.  I have a high respect For moderator Mike H. and I think anyone who reads his Boakingdom website could tell he is a concientious snake keeper who promotes good husbandry, etc.  In my one personal buying experience(a baby tree boa) with Joe Polanco a couple of years ago I didn't really have any problems.  Although I found his personality during the deal to be somewhat arrogant and cynical -- But hey!, I'm sure he probably doesn't care for hanging out with me as well.  Probably thinks of me as a dullard *LOL*(inside joke&#33<img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>*  Anyway, I try to get a "feel" for the persons I deal with and with Joe, it caused me to be somewhat cautious about any further dealings with him.  
   
   While I have my own personal reasons for not dealing with Joe, I don't think he is really purposely and knowingly selling alot of puking emeralds.  Perhaps he is somewhat "in denial" about the regugitation problems within his own collection. I don't know.  With Emerald Regurgitation Syndrome (ERS) that is a very easy pit to fall into as I have been guilty of denial myself in years past with regurgitating emeralds. After all, what do we really know about this sickness??  It is a very sneaky affliction.  I do surmise from his postings that Joe has bought and recieved over 40 or so emeralds in the last couple of years and, with that many animals, a few bad apples are very likely to pop up and perhaps spoil the barrel.  However, I think he was honest and straightforward about the 14 regurgitating emeralds he offered for anyone to take off his hands before freezing.  Why anyone other than a concerned vet or lab would want those emeralds is beyond me, but at least Joe was not misrepresenting them.  And I do not fault him for the thoughts of freezing emeralds with ERS.  Destroying those animals is probably a wise decision rather than having them infect more of anyone's valuable collection.  I recall Joe saying that the sick snakes had been kept and cared for by a friend, so at least, hopefully he hasn't had them in his facility.

    On the forum, I can attest to the many recent post deletions and I do have some problems with his sly actions of trying to discredit other dealers who won't bend to his will (Ben and Matt in particular).  From postings on the forum and in brief conversations with Matt, it seems Joe feels he has so much power and clout in the world of emeralds as to be able to dictate to these honest dealers (such as Matt and Ben Siegel) what he wants to pay for their animals and also expects unlimited guarantees in return.  Then, if he doesn't get what he wants, he proceeds to try and discredit these dealers on his forum.  He is very careful of course not to mention their specific names! Then, when these dealers come forward and answer the accusations, Joe says something like "hey, I never really mentioned your name specifically!" ...yet anyone who has been reading the forum and has any kind of brain knows who Joe was referring to...
Innocent little ol' Joe!*LOL* Is this immature behavior or what? Personally, if I were one of those dealers, I would be insulted.
  I believe dealers such as Ben and Matt provide a good service in the herp world in having the knowledge and the eye for seeking out and cherry picking excellent specimens for snake collectors such as myself and I personally don't mind paying them for their efforts.  Hey, it's cheaper and less time consuming than driving or flying to sunny Florida to try pick them myself!...that is, if I could possibly know when to arrive at just the right time, on the day when the shipments were coming in, before everyone else picked through them,etc.,etc.!!

Now, getting back to the ERS controversy.  I recall Joe once posted that he never saw any evidence of ERS ever being transferred from emeralds in one cage to another in an adjacent cage...that he felt horror stories of one emerald puking causing others in the same room to suddenly start puking were very questionable, as that had never been his experience.  Yet, he did a complete turn around in Tim Bowle's case.  Tim had mentioned (on the forum) that the emerald he bought from Joe caused the two wildcaughts (which had been feeding well and doing fine for 6 months or so) to suddenly start puking in his quarantine room.  Joe then turned on Tim, saying he was a fool for keeping his (Joe's) excellent animal in the same room with two junky wildcaughts ...that THEY must have been the cause of starting HIS animal to puke.  I guess this must have been a case where cage to cage transferrence was not just an old wive's tale!  But seriously and unfortunately, I don't think anybody really knows what ERS really is or how it is transferred.  I wouldn't wish that disease on anyone's collection. It's an awful thing.

Again, these are all just my observations of postings(and deletions) I have observed on the forum.  I have not seen any of the regurgitating (or accused regurging emeralds) in question. However, I have a pretty good memory for things and it does seem that Joe has a kind of double standard in such matters.  There are other examples that come to mind, but I've gone on way too long as it is...

I'm pretty close to Ohio, and I'm not so sure sunny Forida is such an exciting place to live!!!*LOL*I just might have to look you up at one of these herp shows and confront you about this matter man!!!...Er, uh, maybe over a beer*LOL*
