Katie Richardson - ExtraordinaryReptile’s - Questionable???

I'll Go First!!!

Ok Katie, Please explain this whole deal to us. Where, and when did you get the the Ball Pythons? Were there any problems with the paperwork? Did you have any reservations about the paperwork? Did you make any inquiries to 3rd parties about the paperwork? How did you come to post an almost identical group of Ball Pythons later in the same month on Reptibid? Did Steve49 actually get the first group? I guess that will do for now. Dates, Emails, Documents, or anything else that you have to share that would be relevant would help!

Thanks in Advance!!!

Katie I'd like to know....

Why would you drive all the way to Orlando and not see the facilites these snakes were kept in? Why meet in a shopping center? Wheren't you at all interested in hwo these animals were kept?

Did you see all the visible morph aprents of these snakes you are selling? The Albino, the Pied and The Clown? Did they all appear to be in good shape, breedable size, etc?

Can you share a copy of the paperwork that came with these snakes (there appears to be questions about his paperwork also)?

Do the size of the snakes match up with the dates on the paperwork (this seems to be an issue with people that have bought from him)?

Was he able to provide you with hatch dates, clutch sizes, etc.?

Did you check any references? Was he able to provide you with any that could be verified?

Did he give you any kind of guarantee on the animals?

If Harrison can't provide proof that he's not selling fake snakes, will you still continue to try and sell them, knowing they might not be true hets?

Katie,

I would suggest that you read this entire thread and answer each and every question asked and respond to every issue raised. I think that will be the only way for you to "come clean".

I for one will not be holding my breath waiting but will be pleased if I am wrong.

According to one of your explanations, the hets were sent to the wrong person, then apparently there was a delay in getting them returned? When Harrison received them back he wasn't sure if they were the same ones. So my two points are;
The person who accidently received them, may have pulled a switch, they are the same snakes or they aren't, to sell them as 50% possible because they may not be the same snakes is loopy rational.
Second, even if Harrison does have homogonous morphs and you saw them, the fact that he is unable to identify the returned ones, leads me to believe either his documentation provided with his snakes is inadequate and/or that may reflect on the animals he has in his possession, as far as what's what.

Finally!!!!! I was able to get in, did a little clean up on my computer I should really get a new one!! Anyway I want to answer any questions you guys have so please feel free to ask me….. I have posted the post I have wanted to post on Fauna for a while now but was never able to sign in, I sent it to Dennis and he posted it for me but I wanted to make sure it was also posted by me so here is the situation again if you haven’t already seen it:

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Okay everyone, this is a little weird for me since I am new to this you guys kinda freak me out. I am going to take my story to the beginning, I think this is a big misunderstanding going on here and I will try to clear it all up for everyone to get the story strait.
Okay here is goes.................................

I was interested in getting something I could purchase and resell on ReptiBid or Kingsnake. I couldn’t figure out what I wanted, but then I came across an ad on Reptibid that was selling het for albino ball pythons the name of the seller was Raymond Harrison from Harrisons Collection 2005. I took a look at his feedback and there was nothing negative against him or his business I also looked on fauna but the person who made the inquirery spelled his name wrong ramond harrison with out the Y he aslo had good feedback there. So I emailed him in curiosity maybe he could sell his whole clutches for a really good deal and then I could resell them......I got a reply back within two or three days he emailed me and said that would work great he asked me for my phone number I sent it to him. And we begin to discus what he had available and good “wholesale” prices for everything, once we came to an agreement we discussed how we would be able to get them shipped or I could come pick them up, I wanted to come pick them up myself because I wanted to see his original morph parents “I do not know much about breeding ball pythons myself, all I really know is the basic information on Care, but I did read the Ball Python Manual by Tracy Barker.”
When we figured everything out I decided to meet him down in Florida where he would bring his Albino, Pied, and Clown parents with the females he bred them to. When I arrived to see them he was already there, as I recall he was driving a white SUV with all the ball pythons in the back in plastic heating type containers. Nothing looked disturbed even after the long trip. He brought a scale with him and weighed everything to show me everything was the proper weight. Everything looked really good and he was a very kind man, I met his wife a couple minutes later after she came out of the shopping center.
After they loaded everything into my van I paid for them the discussed amount and then he gave me all the paperwork and documentation that is included with the hets. He also gave me a original receipt explaining that I purchased all hets from him listing there numbers then he signed it, his wife signed it and so did I.

I do not believe I was ripped off at all, and there is nothing against Raymond or his Business, I have all documentation from the ball pythons my receipt are also included with the Hets.

Now I don’t think everyone understands the situation with the Het for pied females. Now I will try to explain it again to everyone but it seems like this is the biggest misunderstanding.

Raymond shipped the three het for pied females to a customer who purchased from him a 1.2 regular ball pythons. The women who purchased the three het for pied females got a 1.2 in regulars. (he put the wrong label on the boxes after he packed them up.) When he got the women who purchased the 3 het pied females emailing him and saying she received a 1.2 with no paperwork he new automatically thought he most of put the wrong label on the wrong box since those were the only boxes he shipped that day. He automatically contacted the guy who got the 3 het for pied females instead of the 1.2 in regulars and told him that he shipped the wrong order the guy did not email him to tell him that he received the wrong order and he did not get the three females back for about a week or two so he figured the guy took his three females and swopped them with three regular females of the same size, he told me he does not want to trust it and sell them as 100% if they aren’t 100% and just some normal females. So he emailed me and told me the story and asked if I would purchase them from him as 50% since he is not positive but there is a 50/50 chance these are his females. So I paid the price 50% would cost for all three females.

So that is why I am selling them as 50% not because I got ripped off because I do not believe I got ripped off, I am selling them as 50% because Raymond told me that is how he wants them to be sold since there is a 50/50 chance plus if they do prove out to be pied you paid a very small amount for them.
I was not sure how I was going to sell them, but if you think it is best for me to sell them as regulars I guess I could do that but I would not make back the price I paid for them.
I never listed the three females as real 100% het for pied and I am not listing them as normals now ether I do not even have them on right now. I have not had them listed because I do not know how I am going to sell them yet.

Now for the package deal I purchased a lot of Ball Pythons from Raymond and Sarah Harrison that is why I have been listing a lot at a time like this if that is not a good idea then I could also list them separately. I was just trying to add to the value by putting in the Free male and Gravid female ball pythons, now someone asked why wouldn’t I just keep the Gravid female ball because I do not have any knowledge on breeding ball python and how to hatch out there eggs I have had Lizards breed and the eggs got infested with parasites and died. After that experience I did not want to do that again.
The ball pythons feel really neat when they are gravid though maybe I will keep one and try to hatch the eggs out myself but I would need lots of help. I do not think these bred at my place I think I purchased them from Raymond gravid but they didn’t look like they were gravid when I first got them. I just started to feel the eggs, maybe there is a male in the same cage with all the females, that would be funny!

Anyway I hope this clears this misunderstanding all up.

Oh and to the person who says I changed my name I have never changed my name it has always been Katie Richardson and I just started this business and I have never had a reptile business in the past.

Happy Easter,
Katie Richardson

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Now to begin with the questions already asked I will quote the question and put my answer under them:

Ok Katie, Please explain this whole deal to us. Where, and when did you get the the Ball Pythons?

Orlando Premium Outlets
5-6 miles from the Days inn off of Interstate 4

Were there any problems with the paperwork? Did you have any reservations about the paperwork? Did you make any inquiries to 3rd parties about the paperwork?

Absolutely NO problem with the paperwork, He had all the paperwork done I assume when we discussed it on the phone he read of the numbers I could purchase. All the paperwork came directly from him they weren’t sold then sold again just strait to me. Except the three female het for pieds and I think you guys get the story there. I will consider any offers on those three females, don’t know what other way to sell them.

How did you come to post an almost identical group of Ball Pythons later in the same month on Reptibid

Because that is what I had purchased and it was not identical the key word here is ALMOST, I did not realize it was the same that is just what I had at the time.

Did Steve49 actually get the first group?

Yes he was my first customer, again I am a true beginner at this.

Why would you drive all the way to Orlando and not see the facilites these snakes were kept in? Why meet in a shopping center? Wheren't you at all interested in hwo these animals were kept?

I drove to that shopping mall I guess that is where I discussed I would meet him. He came with all the snakes and they looked well kept they were in aspen shavings and they all looked healthy he weighed the adult breeders and showed me the correct weights, no mites, no ticks or any other parasites. Yes I was interested in how they were kept so I told him to take them all with him there health will obviously reflect on the way they look. And they looked great! If they didn’t I would not have purchased from him.

Did you see all the visible morph aprents of these snakes you are selling? The Albino, the Pied and The Clown? Did they all appear to be in good shape, breedable size, etc?

Yes I saw them all the pied, clown, and albino yes again he weighed them and showed me all the correct weights they should be to be breeders they were absolutely beautiful.

Can you share a copy of the paperwork that came with these snakes (there appears to be questions about his paperwork also)?

I would like to do that but is it really safe to post it on this forum cant people duplicate it and use it? If you would like a copy and will not post it on fauna I can send you one but I do not want to put it at jeopardy.

Do the size of the snakes match up with the dates on the paperwork (this seems to be an issue with people that have bought from him)?

Yes they all match.

Was he able to provide you with hatch dates, clutch sizes, etc.?

Yes and it is also on the paperwork he explained a lot of breeding information to me also.

Did you check any references? Was he able to provide you with any that could be verified?

Well when I looked him up on Fauna he looked like he already had a few references and also everyone who bought on ReptiBid were happy with there order so I took that as all the references.

Did he give you any kind of guarantee on the animals?

Yes the guarantee stands and all hets are backed by him.

If Harrison can't provide proof that he's not selling fake snakes, will you still continue to try and sell them, knowing they might not be true hets?

I can not give you a direct answer on that one because with the documents and guarantees I received these are hets. I saw the visual morphs they are all backed by Raymond and Sarah Harrison, and I don’t need any more proof then what I got.

Any more questions feel free would like to do my best for everyone.

I have emailed Raymond Harrison and hope to get a response back from him, I do not think he thinks he has to back himself because everything is backed by him. I do have his phone number but would like to get his permission first before I go and post it. Also he does not answer his emails if he does not have the animals available he already told everyone he does not have any more hets available well I guess that is what I heard.

Well hope this helps, I still stand with Raymond Harrison and believe he is real. You can also email me directly at : [email protected]

Thanks Again guys,
Katie Richardson

Just a clarification here, He brought the parents of the snakes you brought with him.

Size

Katie,

As I said to you in an email, "the size and paper work do not match on some of them. For example I received babies less than a month for 1.2 100% het albino. The paper work Harrison gave you said they were born 3/04. Size and date don't match.

Steve

I've got a question for you.

Are YOU going to guarentee the genetics of the snakes since you are now reselling them?

Reason I ask is because I have sold some hets that were purchased from other breeders. Once I sold them, I guarenteed the genetics. For example, I recently sold a 1.1 pair of 100% het pied BP's. I did not produce them but I had paperwork from the breeder and I drove to his house and saw the parents and picked the babies. He guarenteed the genetics to me and I turn guarenteed the genetics to my buyer. I have copies of the paperwork showing the identification of the hets along with the buyer (so I can match the animals if something ever did go wrong). These had very distinguishable patterns so ID would be relatively easy (not all ID's are easy) but I can tell you, I can spot one of the animals I sold in a heartbeat so Raymond should not have had such a hard time with his.

Now, if you are not going to give a guarentee of some type on the genetics, then you have no right to advertise them as anything but normals.

With the reasoning you give (50/50 chance of being a het) I could sell a CH animal as a possible het. Hey there IS a CHANCE it is a het. Would that be a good business practice. No. You MUST be honest with everything you sell (especially hets) or you will end up on the BOI having to explain your actions.

This is not the way you start in this business.

You need to be up front 100% of the time and that is EXTREMELY important when you first start out.

Once you ruin your reputation or have it questioned because of misleading ads, it will take a LONG time (if ever) to prove yourself as a reputable seller.

My advice to you would be take the loss on the females (chalk it up to a learning experience) and sell them as normals.

To suggest they are hets when you cannot back it up and the breeder cannot back it up is bad business.

Katie just wondering what did Raymond look like can you give a discription of he and his wife any tattoes that you may have seen? just wondering Paul
PS also did you see a drivers licence or any ID to confirm his name?

Katie,

Calling those "50% hets" was certainly innacurate. Either they were 100% hets or they were normals. No way to say there was a 50% likelihood they were switched. When one calls something 50% het it is typically it is from a clutch that had one 100% (or proven) het parent and one normal, non-het parent. How Mr. Harrison wanted them represented is irrelevant. And it's a lousy deal if they are normal.

So....now the issue of Steve's weight discrepancy remains. That was sidestepped earlier.

I am of the opinion that you are at best naive. Not a good way to enter this "business". It's a hard enough one to make a buck in as it is. Most of us do this for the love of the animals. Some do make a profit. Most are lucky to make their Rodentpro bills.

Katie

Just FYI - If the paperwork doesn't have the actual het snake on it, it's pretty much worthless. No-one uses just pictures of the parents on their genetics guarantees. Is there contact information from Raymond on the paperwork in case the hets don't prove? Also did he give you feeding records?

Thanks,

Tosha McClintock

paper work

Tosha,

The paper work Katie gave me from harrison appears to have both, parents and offspring. I would post them but my scanner is down. You want to come get them?

Steve

This "Katie" story sounds like a big joke to me. Katie is Harrison or vice-versa. Just my .02 though.

If you have a digital camera even you should be able to take a picture of them and post them here.

Could you do that?

More to come, I'm a thinkin' as I write........

Harrison Paperwork

OK - I've heard that it just had the parent, if it's got both then it's my mistake, I must have heard wrong. But then why would he not be able to identify the pied hets on the switched shipments? But then again your paperwork also says that those snakes (which appear to be a couple of months old) are a year old so who knows?

Own the lie, 'fore your rep does DIE

po' katie dear
it's all PIE in the SKY

A hundred percent jip, to that I'm hip
50% hets, don't take any bets
nice normal babies hatched re Cently
that's my take, po' gull 'ible katie

Now that I have THAT out of my system let me just say this.

IF, and it's a REALLY big if so far as I'm concerned, YOU, katie, got taken, it is BAD to rip off someone else. I HIGHLY suspect that you are simply LYING to cover yourself having been caught trying to swindle, cheat, ROB other unsuspecting ball python buyers.

I have NEVER heard of ANYONE taking THOUSANDS of dollars worth of visable morphs to a Mall Parking Lot to sell babies that are SUPPOSEDLY hets but do NOT have matching paper work. THAT is simply LUDICROUS.

My guess is that you are either a reincarnation of jon struck, latley of bearded pets, or harrison is. Either way you both are BAD NEWS.

You story, from the VERY beginning, has been inconsistent and UNBELIEVABLE. Now that you are here, it is even worse. If you are truly as NEW as you claim, you have been royally ripped off, IN THEORY. But I am doubting everything you have said or had others say for you.

Post some pictures, some invoices, some documentation.

Don't even TRY to say harrison doesn't want you to. At this point YOUR reputation is swirling around the bowl about to disappear forever into the realms of BAD GUYS. If it's a choice between YOUR reputation or harrisons, which do YOU think would be the smart choice here? hint hint, save YOURS while you still can.

While I would REALLY like to see you prove me wrong, I SERIOUSLY doubt you will.

One more for the bad guy lists guys.

How could he not ID his own hets?

If the paperwork had a pic of the offspring (it should have been a pic that allows easy identification) why did he not keep a copy for his records?

Something doesn't sound right.

To ad to the paperwork point.

All of the animals I sell, whether they are hets, morphs, or "pets", come with a photo ID. ALL of the animals I sell. I keep records as well of every animal sold. I can ID one of my animals so why can't Harrison?

I don't buy this "Harrision couldn't ID the hets sent back to him".
