The whole time I was reading your post I couldn't decide if I'd rather have the friend with the FFL saving me a good deal of money or the friend giving away colts. Did you talk about anything else in that post?

Anyway, I thought about it and not being much into autos I'll tell you what. Make it a Python and we got a deal!! I know, I'm always thinking of the other guy! If you can do a .50 BMG in an auto I'll give it some thought though, another selfless act!

As for gun laws, I picked SC over NC because of the more lax laws. I'd never live someplace I could carry or drive with a gun.

Where are you moving in AZ? I got stopped once a few year back by an officer. It was one of those "hey that prick has his brights on me" kinda things. Advice, flashing a cop with your brights, bad idea.

Anyway, I don't like to say too much about the firearms I own but let's just say. I had far more then enough in the car ( I was just out trying some new toys). The officer walked up and said, "do you have any firearms in the car"? Well, I didn't mean to start laughing but I said yes and I started telling him what and where I had everything. He of course wanted to know what the hell I was doing with them all but after we talked for a few minutes he was cool as a polar bears toe nails. Ran some numbers, never even called for backup and even asked about some of the firearms he'd been thinking of buying.

I must just say, one of a few great dealings I've had with law enforment and firearms in AZ. Now this thread is way off topic so I'm sorry but thought I'd tell Ritchie.

You'll love AZ, I can drive 10 minutes and shoot all day long if I choose and can afford to.

Hey look everyone. California and Maryland has the toughest gun laws. Guess what?!? We still have the highest crimes rates.
I bet if they take a chance and relax on this gun law thing....I bet crime goes down. It boils down to this. I might not have much to say...but I would like the chance to say it if I do. I might not be in a market for a gun....but I would like to be able to buy whatever I want if I want to. I might not have anything to post in a classified....but if I did I would like to be able to. It is the freedom thing.

Criminals prefer unarmed peaseants.
Then again....so does our government.

I did keep up with this thread in the beginning, but have since fallen way behind due to the holiday. To much beer, not enough computer I guess. I have nothing to add in regards to the KS issue. Anyway, in regards to paying for a classified account on THIS site. I would likely do it, but a change would need to be made first. I've only posted one ad on this site's classified section, so my experience can only be limited to this one time. Take it for what it is. I posted an ad for an amazon basin emerald in the boas section a few months back. When I returned a few hours later to check on the ad I found that it was already down at the bottom of the page. This normally would not bother me, except for the fact that only two new ads had been placed since mine. My ad had dropped down simply because of chit chat within existing ads, and people responding to their own ads to get them back to the top of the page. You need to do away with the ability to post replies in ads!!! If people have questions they can contact each other. If people need to make revisions to their own ads, they can use the edit feature. In order to achieve a more fair and successful sales environment: Ads should remain in the order in which they where placed, and they should be free of distractions and clutter from surrounding ads. An ad that has ten replies is always going to get more views than an ad that has no replies. Not to mention the ad with no replies will drop down the page faster. This is a deterrent for some sellers who may not have the time or desire to check their ads daily for possible responses. Do you know what I mean? When asking people to pay for a service, that service must provide an equal, unbiased return for those individuals willing to pay for it. Everybody seems to miss the old KS classifieds (when it was cheaper), so why not use it as a model to rebuilt THIS site's classified section? 3 ads per day, stay in topic, no replies, no unfair advantages, etc... A succesful classified section must first cater to the seller, not the buyer. That's what the BOI is for.

Not bad for a month in my book, I think it sucks they doubled it, but my monthly ad in the yellow pages is 700 a month, and my two papers I advertise in is a grand a month, I guess in the scheme of things 8 bucks isnt bad?

I wasnt argueing that fact, I think the format ks has in their ads helps a bit as, you have a place to hold the images and post them. Free - well, is always better, but I go to the classifieds and look about, and people seem to stick to the boi , i maybe see 1-5 people looking in the classifieds. I think this can arouse some issues as what if everyone decides to start advertising here, this will mean everyone will have to begin having their images hosted by others and loading them here, its kind of difficult where as over there its hands on, kind of. I personally like the manner of this site much more that ks, as the politics are more honest over here, but they do have a good layout in that chapter. I have inquired a few times about animals in the classifieds here, and ended up feeling like I was on the boi. it didnt feel safe? the people were very sketchy, and easily agitated with my questions? no biggy .

I guess I missed something concerning the issue with photos.

You can upload images for your ads here directly from your local hard drive within the actual ads you place. You do this by attaching the image file to the ad. The BROWSE button allows you to search your hard drive to select the image you want to attach. You don't have to host those photographs anywhere.

Or are we talking about the same thing?

As far as the BOI is concerned, well yes, that is the centerpiece of this site. And I would actively encourage anyone looking at ads on this site (as well as others) to be cautious and check out the people they want to buy from as much as possible. Along those same lines, I have implemented a feedback system which people can participate in and see the results of this feedback immediately in the user identification section to the left of each ad posted.

Will some people get grilled about their ads? Well, yes, but I wouldn't want it any other way here. Good guys will remain, bad guys will eventually get fed up and leave. This will work exactly as it was intended to. I don't have to lift a finger, as this self policing mechanism will weed out the bad guys for me. That is exactly why I decided to re-enable replies in the classifieds sections.

Oh, and as far as the number of people browsing the classifieds, that is misleading. It takes only moments to browse through the ads, whereas the BOI is chock full of reading material. Anyone coming on here will likely spend a few moments browsing the new ads, but a substantially longer amount of time reading the new posts, word for word, on the BOI. That is to be expected. As the number of new ads increase, that will cause more people to spend a longer amount of time in the classifieds sections. I mean, try it yourself. Just how long does it take you to scan the new ads to tell if there is something there of interest to you?
