As one of "the dozen or so" I can only say this. Dave has proven himself a liar. That, however, has only proven Dave's character; it says nothing about Neil's. Neil has proven his own character several times during the "thread of doom," and elsewhere. Those who choose to ignore Neil's character in favor of looking only at his husbandry practices and his friendly demeanor will do as they see fit. I wish you all well in your "close encounters of the Neil kind."
However, I would just like to remind you all that Neil started the "thread of doom" being the friend of nearly every one of us that are counted in "the dozen or so," and it was only when we asked him several straightforward questions (which he never answered, I might add) that he then turned on us and brought his attorney online to try and dissuade us from asking him further questions. Neil can ask all kinds of questions of Dave and anyone else, but let just a few honest people ask Neil some questions and OH BOY . . .the fight is ON!
Do what you want; believe what you want. Neil knows what he said to me in emails (I still have them all) about several things and several people. The progression from a "friend in Tampa" to a cursing attacker is evident.
Dave may be the most guilty person on the face of the earth. He may even have been on the grassy knoll! Even so, none of that is going to change one thing about Neil. I know it; a few others know it; and whether Neil wants to admit it or not, he knows it too.
I really do hope the robberies end there in Tampa. I hope the criminal(s) is/are caught. I hope the prosecution is flawless. Neil, to say that because we would like for you to sit this one out for a while and let the focus be on Dave's guilt or innocence rather than on the continuation of the neverending whine-fest between you two, we therefore are in favor of the robberies in Tampa is idiotic. It is self-aggrandizing tripe that only someone self-important to the Nth degree would have the gall to post in public. You ought to be ashamed. You ought to appologize. I'm expecting neither to be apparent or forthcoming.

No one is forcing any of you to read the "thread of Doom", or go to "close encounters of a Neil kind". Everyone here can choose to read what you want. I beleive the purpose of the BOI is to show the good and bad people in this business. I think this thread shows that there is some bad things going on in Tampa, and someone not to do business with.

I am very glad that some of Neils business dealings were satisfactory. I, on the other hand had one that was not so great and when I voiced my unhappiness, I was verbally attacked and insulted. Everytime Neil does anything positive, he posts it here for all to see, his attacks are usually thru private message and e-mails. To show a person has good character, it should also include the things they do "just because", not just for the PR. I have recieved several e-mails from Neil regarding my posts, most were attacks on me, but some were not, some were enlightening. Neil may be an O.K. guy with nice animals, but everyone makes mistakes. It is how those mistakes are handled, that is important. Everyone can handle the "good deals" it is more difficult to resolve the bad ones.
I would also like to say, that I do not think Neil has anything to do with the robberies, but if he wants to help solve them, he should NOT be posting the pertinent information on a public forum. Makes NO sense!

Casey...You know very well that I handled "our" problem as best I could at every turn....you say you have ALL our emails from "our" deal??? POST THEM!! Show everybody what a fool you are! You KNOW the injury to it's foot was caused by the shipping....you KNOW I asked you to take it to the Vet countless times (WITH an offer to help pay for it)...you KNOW you sent me a "movie" showing the poor kid jumping off your hand onto the tiled floor!....you KNOW it took you 2 WEEKS to get it to the Vet...you KNOW that even after ALL THAT....I STILL sent you $100 to try and make it right! To blame the Daytona show on Pegs aminamls being stolen is akin to blameing the local swapmeet for your T.V., V.C.R., and Jewlery box being taken in a home invasion robbery.
True, it COULD offer them an outlet, at any given show there are always TONS of fly-by-night brokers, heck even on kingsnake.coms class ads, all you see is BROKERS.
The reason that I make this distinction is just this:
No self resepcting breeder is EVER going to steal snakes from another breeder or shop, their reputations are to valuable.
BROKERS on the other hand are in the business of TURNING over animals at a very rapid rate. Even a lot of brokers would shy away from this one though, because it has a lingering odor(Felonious smell?)
No..the person that did this was :
a) SHORT TIMER-someone that hasnt been around long and has no intention of being around long, out to make a quick buck.
b) A relative amateur-Or they would have went for a breeder whose animals quality and value EXCEED Pegs.
Is the Daytona show responsible?

Neil. What movie? I hope you are confused, you have me mixed up with someone else, I sent you nothing. And I never told you she jumped off my hand. I told you it "might" have hapened in shipping, because I did not want to call you a liar. You did not take care of the situation. We recieved an adult beardie, in a CLOTH bag, with one of its rear feet almost severed. I emailed you immediately and told you of the problem. You seemed like the nicest guy, full of promises to "make it right", "Do what ever you had to do" We e-mailed you every day and asked what you suggested. We asked you if we could return her, you told us not to send her back, because you knew "we could provide her with the best care" you gave me your recipe for cricket soup to force feed her. You told me, after we had been force feeding her for several days, that you would contribute $50.00 towards the vet bill. Our reptile vet charges $35.00 to look at your pet. We tried erythromycin topically and soaked her foot in betadine, and after about a week we took her to the vet and got Baytril and the foot was removed, but unfortunately she was too weak to survive. When we then asked for a refund, and told you we were VERY UNHAPPY, you got VERY MAD and insulted me and my wife, called us several unflattering names and told us you would give us a partial refund of $100 and that we better take it, before you change your mind. I did not know about this forum at that time, and as I stated in a different thread(which I can find if I have to) I did not save any of the e-mails. It happened over 1 year ago and at the time I thought I had no recourse.
If you think you took care of the situation as "best you could" then I certainly can't argue with you about that, but I think you handled it very poorly. You try to intimidate people with insults and threats.
I can not guess how a leg could become that damaged in a shipping bag. Her leg was cut/smashed right to the bone at her ankle. You called us novices, in and in a way you were right, as this was one of our first adult bearded dragon purchases, which is why we followed your advice to the letter.

Casey....I'm sorry you feel that way, but...if you recall...I NEVER ignored you...I always answered your emails....I answered every question you had, multiple times, and to the best that I could....when you first told me about it...the leg was just swollen! THAT's when you should have taken it to the Vet...but, no ...you thought YOU could do better, even though you NEVER worked with Beardies before! So I TRIED to help you out with that, too....it wasn't until I told you I would "split" the cost of another animal with you, figuring you could pick one up for about $200-$250, that you came back to me with some ridiculous number ($400+?), that I started getting very mad! And, yes! When I get mad...I write mad! What ever happened to the other one? Is it still alive?

Not to change the subject but if you can get a hold of some albon,flagyl,baytril,ivomectin....it is really a good idea to use all that stuff as soon as you get a new reptile in.We always put our new ones in isolation then we soak them and give them the treatments.then all you possible problems are solved.Those are tricks that I learned when I was in Tech school.This was probably not the right place to write all this but I was reading the other comments and I thought I would try to help ya...The animals do soooo much better that way and....you don't have to worry about a bad rep and being on here...hahah...

Like I said before I never blamed the Daytona Show I just said that the show was coming up and it could be a possible place for some one to get rid of as many reptiles that has been stolen in this area. This answer was in responce to the question wasn't it the same time last year when you got robbed not just me other places also. YES!!! Anyone that has had there store broke into in the last few weeks also thought that. Peg

Well I just rolled in from Daytona,Spent the day on the beach with several of the venders.As always it was a good show,I was not a vender but a guest of one but I spent some bucks on some great herps.Anyway to the point of this post, I was there all day everyday and I did not see Neil (or hear the bells that he would have on). However, Mike the person that owns the 1.1 albino boas was there and I did introduce him to some people (he was the 6'-5" man that was with me Saturday and most of Sunday). I was told something Saturday by a lady her quote was "The Fauna Classifieds forum is no longer a tool that people use to help themselves but a weapon that people use to hurt others". I want everyone that reads this to think of that quote each time before you post,I know I will.
I think that it was Ray and / or Jenny that posted "I should have eyes in the back of my head so I could see the faces people make as I walk away", That may or may not be true but I wonder, If people (breeders, venders, wholesellers and others people in this biz) Dis-like me so much, Why Did I get a free room at the Adams Mark? Why did venders give me super prices on herps? Why was I taken to dinner? I would like to know these answers. I am done with this mess.

i cant believe this just ended like this lol. what happended??? did they ever catch who did it? was dave involved in any way? IS neil really a bad guy as well. man, i just found this site because im looking to add a ball python to my collection, and found this section. i just sat here reading all 49 pages of this. you guys(and gals) probably wont believe this but ive been reading this section of the forum since tues nite. i started around 11p and wound up sitting here all nite and day til 530 yesterday before going to sleep, at which point i had been up 29 hours lol. i then got up again around midnite last nite, and have once again been sitting here all day except for running to the bank and a couple hours of the US open this morning (yes i work a very odd schedule). im brand new to the herp community as you may be able to tell, but was reading alot about those scumbags sal and allison, and justyn, but it seems in each bad guy thread there is another name posted of someone who is just as bad or even worse and i end up googling them. i think i have about 3 other threads im all in the middle of reading opened up on my computer still lol, but this one i just couldnt "put down". been reading start to finish. unbelievable stuff. i never had a clue this community (not forum) was anything like this. now i think i understand why the breeder i got my snakes from wasnt to keen on my coming and picking up the snakes i bought from him when i thought he lived near me, and uses a po box. anyway, ill not let that deter me. it seems like there are far more good guys then bad guys, and hopefully w/ the help of this forum you will be able to provide this VERY valuble service to buyers everywhere. thanks webslave.
anyway, if someone could direct me to hopefully the conclusion of this damn thing i would really REALLY appriciate it.

IS neil really a bad guy as well. man, i just found this site because im looking to add a ball python to my collection, and found this section. i just sat here reading all 49 pages of this. you guys(and gals) probably wont believe this but ive been reading this section of the forum since tues nite. i started around 11p and wound up sitting here all nite and day til 530 yesterday before going to sleep, at which point i had been up 29 hours lol. i then got up again around midnite last nite, and have once again been sitting here all day except for running to the bank and a couple hours of the US open this morning (yes i work a very odd schedule). im brand new to the herp community as you may be able to tell, but was reading alot about those scumbags sal and allison, and justyn, but it seems in each bad guy thread there is another name posted of someone who is just as bad or even worse and i end up googling them. i think i have about 3 other threads im all in the middle of reading opened up on my computer still lol, but this one i just couldnt "put down". been reading start to finish. unbelievable stuff. i never had a clue this community (not forum) was anything like this. now i think i understand why the breeder i got my snakes from wasnt to keen on my coming and picking up the snakes i bought from him when i thought he lived near me, and uses a po box. anyway, ill not let that deter me. it seems like there are far more good guys then bad guys, and hopefully w/ the help of this forum you will be able to provide this VERY valuble service to buyers everywhere. thanks webslave.
anyway, if someone could direct me to hopefully the conclusion of this damn thing i would really REALLY appriciate it.
