    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

were your snakes delivered in proper, insulated boxes? that's what MY complaint is about, shipping babies in what amounts to a pencil box shoved inside an envelope w/out a sliver of insulation!! then i find out rainer 'teaches' good shipping over in that forum!?! huh? LOL! well my snake arrived stunned and never recovered. i read you had some post delivery issues later? were they related to shabby shipping as well or something different? ..........dan felice

Your snake arrived just fine and it was not in a pencil box. How many threads do you want to continue this on?

Here is my email to Dan that explains the situation. He has been following me for two years about a snake I sent him. He did not contact me until several months later saying it stopped feeding for him:

I am sorry I have to disagree with you .

First, I should not have agreed to replace a snake that you did not contact
me about for 5 months. You been around since the 60's I would think that you
do know about certain snake edicate. The snake was in your pocession and you
say it did not eat but a couple times and then languished. Why didn't you
contact me a week later or two weeks later? Why wait and work with an animal
for 5 months to see if you could save it and then complain to the seller?

Second I was doing you a favor and being a nice guy to send you your
replacement. I even paid for the shipping a second time.AL, this was in
spite of you nasty first email. Can you imagine selling a snake to someone
and then 5 months later getting an email like that? I am sure you would not
respond in like manner.

Third the snakes were sent in a insulated box. I only ship in cardboard when
the weather in the destination area is permitting.

Fourth your address that you gave me was not a deliverable address (whatever
that means) so it was your fault. Now you blame me that the snakes came back
dead?

Just how far do you want someone to go for customer satifaction? I sent you
three snakes and paid for two deliveries.

Then there is you first email to me that you started off by threatening me
without even ASKING me if I would replace it. I called you and told you I am
not motivated by threats. You apologized and said you were drunk when you
wrote it. I overlooked it and said I would replace anyway. Funny thing what
is, what bothered me the most was your insinutaion that I sent you a bad
snake. I even sent you a picture of the snake before you purchased it and i
still have the pic of the original snake. It looks very fat and healthy for
a newborn. You can see the bulge of its last meal in the pic as well.

You conatacted me several months later to remind me of my promise to replace
the snake. I agreed to sending you two nice hypos for the one because they
were less money.

Now i get this email from you?

I have been doing this for a long time as well. You are my only bad
customer. I have had no complaints and if i did I am the type to bend over
backwards to fix the probelm because I am in a hobby and not a business and
thats the way I just am. I love the hobby and i wish everyone was as good as
me in treating other herpers.


This hobby seems to attract a lot of bad people. I am not one of them even
though you would like to make me out to be one. I am not the type to rip
anyone off (like you are insinuating) and I really resent that.

Dan it seems to me you are the one with a problem and your emails to me
speak volumes. The way you come across is not good.

I wish you would not go with your threat to go public because any accusation
is bad. But in this case I cannot be pushed around like you have been doing.

I didn't know that shipping computer parts and live reptiles was the same thing...and I didn't see any response to the fact that most documents travel in UNPRESSURIZED cabins...which means...DING DING DING...LOW OXYGEN CONTENT...hmmmm...that couldn't be bad for live reptiles...after all the computer parts arrive safely.

I'll leave this alone now...Wes has put it into perspective quite well.

Being as how I take a somewhat perverse joy in knowing that I am very easy to find but that most of the "folks" who most desperately want to find me are too stupid to do so on their own, and I really do find it amusing that guys like lil' petey perez just can't find my location info because I don't provide it here, I must decline your kindly offer Dan.

However, I have no problem providing it to anyone with whom I am doing business.

And really, unless you've the IQ of an onion, I'm really not hard to find.

Maybe Frank Juarez is a friend who who did me a favor by shipped the box while I was away during the Christmas holiday.

LMAO, You COMMIT a crime to save you some cash, but YET anyone who argues with you is wrong.....

Not only did you do something that you could get in trouble for, but you risked animals lives in my opinion over it. The postal service is far less better than FedEx or UPS. I have recieved plenty of mail and even signed for a package once, THAT wasnt even for my adress. Some were not even for my street YET there is was. Packages that i had to sign for, left under my mailbox which was 5 feet ftom the curb (plenty got snatched from passer by's too. USPS gave a care less about it, when i called and complained). USPS is so bad with packages, that if the item i'm buying can only be shipped via usps, i pass it up.


Who is frank juarez anyways... interesting. If indeed that pic that was found on KS was you, because you look the type to be a fan of the UFC.

Could be totally off there, but i find it very interesting. You ship packages with illegal content, but you cannot and did not use your name that time. I dont know if anyone else who recieved packages from you, gets your name and adress on the packages or not.

Nope, There is not. There should not be a "rule" for proving ones side. People accused you of shipping illegally, You came here and did not really seem to deny it. Your only excuse is to claim other "big time breeders" do the same exact thing..... FUNNY, because if there were, we would see more badguy shipping usps threads.

Oh and for the "how many of you break the law by not paying taxes on your snakes?" comment... Something tells me you just admitted you do not pay taxes on your snake income. Since you came off as if it is so commonplace, just like how you said it was common for people to ship usps in envelopes. Your all about saving $$$, I'm shure you don't want to share some with the irs either.......... Oh, well it isn't me that has to worry about THAT knock on the door...

The first shipment I received from bluerosy was supposed to be 2.2 jurassic milk snakes. I saw his advertisement, liked the snakes, and then made him an offer that was just shy of the price of THREE of the snakes and asked him to pay shipping also (I don't recall the figures, but I believe the 4 snakes were listed at $40 for three and $25 for one, total $145 plus $25 shipping... I offered him $100 shipped for the four). One of the snakes was an admitted non-feeder, but I thought I could bring it around, and it was the prettiest of the bunch. Rainer had trouble packing up the animals for shipment (have you ever tried to get lively hatchlings in a deli when they didn't want to?)... one (the non-feeder) escaped and was inaccessible before he could blink. I've had this happen, and while it was unfortunate, I didn't feel bad about the issue, I'd practically asked him to ship it to me for free anyway. I don't know if I would have done what he did, but his response was to go back into his snake room and look through his other non-feeder jurassic milks. He picked out SIX non-feeders from among those, AND another non-feeder kingsnake and included them in the package. The non-feeders were packaged together in the exact manner he described. I believe that the temperatures where he lives were in the mid-seventies, and the temperatures where I live were at a similar level and the animals were shipped in an insulated box, inside an envelope.

I was unable to get most of the non-feeders to eat, and they perished. One was offered a newly severed mouse tail (ewww) and to my amazement he gobbled it down, followed by a newborn pinky mouse. Once he had digested that I wintered him and he is due to begin breeding in a couple of weeks. I learned that I should not believe in my "power" to get non-feeders to eat and sort of stepped down off my "I feel superior because my first and only non-feeder was a success story" pedestal. I've had plenty of failures since my first success (a jungle carpet python). But back then I was full of myself and thought I could work miracles with any snake.

While Rainer did not have to do anything to make up for the loss, since in fact it was the non-feeders who perished, he still wanted to make up for it. I put the "next season I'll send you some more" promise onto a back burner and went on with life, breeding, etc. When he did offer to send me some replacement snakes I was torn because of the shipping issue. I decided (wrong decision) that I would go ahead and allow him to ship to me, knowing that he would be shipping USPS. We waited until the temps were acceptable before any shipment was made. Mostly I wanted to receive his animals because there was a bad flavor lingering over having tried so hard and losing all those beautiful beautiful animals he sent me. (AGAIN... NOT due to shipping). I wanted the situation to be RIGHT and NOT wrong. I felt that the best way was to let him decide what he would send me and not be picky about the shipping. We corresponded for a number of weeks, especially since the original shipment date had a heat spike here in arizona. Finally they were shipped and I was a little bit wary.... I wanted it all to work out perfectly. The animals arrived, again in an insulated container as he has described. We went to the post office just after they normally put mail in the boxes to make sure that the animals would not remain in the box for a second longer than necessary. I was absolutely amazed at the quality/condition of the beautiful animals I received. The little jurassic female he sent me will almost certainly be one of my most beautiful animals, and the pair of het-hypo brooks/eastern kings he sent were also extremely beautiful, vigorous, and voracious. The animals did NOT seem stressed, they were a good cool-to-the-touch temperature.

Honestly, if Rainer wants to put Santa Claus on the return address of his packages, he can. People ship items under other peoples names all the time. In fact in many business's, such as mine, its requested as a service. Its not illegal in most circumstances, therefore, it really is none of anyones business but Rainers. You guys can ping him for shipping USPS, which he agreed not to do any more, but you can't call him out on the name thing...there is nothing wrong with it. You can only attack him on the illegal stuff fairly. Shipping with another name on the box does not consitute an illegal act, thus, he has no obligation to explain it.

BTW Rainer, don't sweat this thread. Most folks that have been around a while understand that this board is populated by lots of people who have nothing better to do than pick apart posts. Most other people can read between the lines. AND BTW, I agree with you. I would bet a months salary that most of the critics here have done things just as "dispicable", and very recently. Pot calling the kettle Black.

Opie, Aphid, whatever the heck your name is, DON'T go away. You're one of the few, the proud, the walking upright with spinal cord apparently intact and functioning, don't bail now. For less than the price of two beers at a bar, you're bellyup here for a year.

You've got to admit, the entertainment is worth it as twice the price.
