In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Ramon Acosta (Rayreptile)

How ride of you I will not stoop down to your childish level, my quarrel is not with you anyways. Your pretty pathetic now. I know what you can go suck though and it ain't no egg.

Please do not talk to her this way. Your issue is with me. No need to take after other folks like that.

I will gladly change the claim down to $125 but as you stated, it sounds as though you have no intention on following through.

In your above post, I dont see any terms.

I have already called the card issuing bank and can file that claim when needed. I am waiting to do that as I am still holding out hope that Ramon will see reason.

Josh, Ramon is just dancing around. Why not file today at 3PM unless you have the agreed funds in your account by then.

cutting corners to save a buck or two at the expense of the safety of the animals.

What a winner!

Shame shame shame on the seller in this entire situation...everything from your emails to your customer, to your response here, to your STUPID excuses for your idiotic methods...proves that you don't have a clue what you are doing, and have no regard what so ever for the health or safety of your animals.

Now that I'm more awake...and look at that box again....that is just appalling to ship off two sub adult females in...I don't even want to try and picture you stuffing them in there in the first place.

You lay blame on your scale for YOUR huge mistake on the weights...instead of being humbled by YOUR mistake and correcting it with your customer. So what if the OP mis-sexed them on his first attempt...it happens, even to people who are sexing pros...he did let you know of his own error once it was confirmed to him they were female.

I also wonder just how big that smaller female was LAST year when she supposedly dropped eggs....being 800 grams...9 months into THIS year...suuure makes me wonder...

I would be skeptical about the 800g female being proven. It's hard to say for sure just from looking at pictures, but she doesn't really look like she has the girth that I would expect from a proven 8 egg layer that laid last year (she should have put her weight back on by now).

Josh, Ramon is just dancing around. Why not file today at 3PM unless you have the agreed funds in your account by then.

I will do that. I just don't want to cause that much trouble for someone if I can avoid it.

Ramon, please see reason. I will give you until 3pm my time today to issue a partial refund of $125. It is currently 10:50am my time. If the refund is not issued, I will proceed with the credit card dispute. Please do the right thing.

I can tell you by her size that there was no way she laid 8 eggs last year. I have a male bumblebee that is about 1200 grams and he dwarfs her. She is under three feet long.

The other gal has more size than the smaller one but from what I have read a 1500 gram gal would usually produce a smaller clutch.

It appears that Mr. Acosta is a graduate of "Varnyard's Academy of Business Ethics". If you make his shady activities pubilcly known, you're suddenly in violation of some imaginary contract. He apparently had no qualms about shafting you, so I believe you can retaliate with a clear conscience. If he's not willing or able to fix his own mistake, you do what you have to do, to fix it for him.

USPS does and has I received a shipment of Cornsnakes back in 09 after that bad experience I never used them again, im not aware of any change of policy since then because I avoid using them.

I'm calling BS on the change of policy excuse you used....
As was demonstrated above, they do not ship snakes and in fact, they have had that policy since before 1975... If you have an old copy of The Field Guide to Reptiles and Amphibians of Eastern and Central North America by Conant (Peterson Field Guide series), it is even discussed as being illegal in paragraphs on shipping reptiles and amphibians.... My old copy of the guide is from 1975 and mentions it right in there which gives us the time line of at least since 1975...

By offering to ship snakes via the postal service you could have been in violation of postal regulations as well as the Lacey Act... Failing to properly mark the box with at least live harmless wildlife, is a marking offense under the Lacey Act....

Trying to communicate with Ramon via email. He has escalated the paypal dispute. I am still holding off until 3pm today before filing with the bank.

Your right my quarrel is with you, but she clearly disrespected me all because you went public with it she had no right in addressing me that way so I have to defend myself no matter what or who. I will agree to that refund if you delete your posting and publicly apologies for the little misunderstanding and creating that post. I was hoping to keep it private but you seem to get enjoyment out of this for what reason.

I also see that you escalated the Paypal claim? I was hoping we wouldn't have to go that route. You still have the chance to fix this. Please take this before it is to late.

If I file the dispute charges on my card, this is going to go in a much different direction. The financial institutions involved will collect their money and possibly file charges against you for this. I do not want that to happen. I just want this situation made right so we can both put this behind us.

Fighting this is only going to make it worse and hurt your opportunities to sell on Fauna. Please do the right thing.

You have to see that this situation is no good. There are a dozen people currently viewing this thread and it has had 730 views so far. These are potential customers or collagues that are seeing this. For both of us I ask that you send the refund. I will gladly post that the issue was resolved if this is done before 3pm.

Josh, I believe he is still dancing around trying to manipulate you. I would just file at 3 and be done with it, you clearly did not receive what you paid for and do not have to dance to his tune to get it back

Not sure what is going on but My copy and paste is going all weird. Ramon is still insisting that I am in the wrong here. I have tried to communicate and given the opportunity to fix this. I will proceed as stated earlier at 3pm if not resolved.

Call me a jerk but I would go for the whole refund myself. He didn't send you what you paid for and he is being an idiot. How old is he anyway?

Even though I got something way different that what I paid for, I still wouldn't feel right about getting something for nothing.

His ad did state that he was looking to move these snakes for funds for a new car. Times are tough for people and I do not wish to make them tougher.

Resolved

I wanted to post that Ramon has issued a refund in the amount of $125 as agreed.

Thank you Ramon for doing the right thing.

Ramon has requested that I make a public apology for taking this to the BOI.

Ramon,

I am sorry that it came to this. I am sorry that I took this to the BOI instead of continuing to communicate privately. My intention was not to publicly humiliate or embarass you. I am grateful that we were able to resolve the issue.

I'm glad that he was finally shamed into making resitution, however, you owe him absolutely nothing. He knowingly screwed the pooch, and then wants to complain about being caught doing so. Welcome to "The List", Ramon.

I agree with Dan. You don't owe Ray an apology at all. But, under the circumstances, I understand and can read between the lines.

As it is, we all should be thanking you for outing yet another bad guy in our hobby.

Thank you, Josh Davis!
