In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Reptster.com experience with show sponsorship not good

I just pulled my ads on Reptster and emptied the gallery I had set up there.
He obviously thinks nothing of this community.
I will be going back to using my Fed Ex account. The small savings are not worth using the service provided by someone who thinks so little of the rest of the community.
At least now I won't have login issues and screwed up print format on labels or be double charged for shipments, or pay Reptster for a 5 pound box and have Fed Ex rate it (and I assume bill him) for a 3 pound box and never see the difference in what the extra weight cost me versus what they billed at on my end.
I just can't see using Reptster any longer when it appears by his own statements that he doesn't care what we think as long as we pay him to ship packages.

You don't need repster to get the discounts. My contract says I can not reveal what my discounts are~ but I can disclose that I get discounts and they are better than repsters. Get certified~ it's easy. Call your rep and explain that you should be entitled to discounts because you are not entitled to the garantees ~ explain how much money the animals your shipping are worth and that because of your contract you are not entitled to any compensation if they lose or mangle a box. Be NICE about it. The rep will be nice about it if you are and will find discounts for you. Then~ honor your agreement and don't try to make any claims if (WHEN) they screw up a box or deliver it late.

My thoughts exactly, even though my first rep at Fed Ex was clueless, my second one hooked me up. She had never dealt with reptile shipping so it was a learning experience for both of us, but she has always took the time to find answers to my questions if she didn't know. She offered me discounts without even asking, they are amazing compared to Fed Ex's normal shipping fees. Sorry, but I'm not supposed to disclose them either. I'm not a big shipper, I might have shipped 15 animals in the past year.

My advice is if you try Fed Ex and your rep sucks try to get a new one. It might take a few phone calls and alot of time on hold, but it is well worth it.

Damn David. That's about 8 that i see who you have lost. And that's only the ones who have posted publicly.

I just signed up a few days ago. Unlike a lot of those posting, i actually do ship a pretty substantial quantity. My plans were to transfer it all to you.

That said, i would never do business with someone who treats defrauding someone on a contract as a joke. Hopefully, a nice little boycott is in the works. I am guessing this little smug stunt of yours has already cost you more than $750 over the next month.

Spitting on a good sized segment of the industry you are trying to break into is never a good idea

I would like to comment a bit on this. First I do not know either party other then David via email.

I see the emails that the OP posted and that David said check is on the way. In his story he said he did that via a phone or a simular device. Also said he did not see the 750 thing. He said he thought it was 250.

That could be. I am not sure. I am not seeing where the OP said that she never told him 250.

Where my problem lies is the way he handled it.

Saying people here or people at this forum do not matter. These people are the ones that go to the shows and what not. These people are the ones that will be using reptster more as they are internet users that love reptiles. And Reptster is an internet base business.

I too have used reptster once. I will say nothing went wrong at all. Everything went great.

I look at all this and see things like this.

reptster is a great thing. Making it where people can ship the reptiles without hiding it. But the person running it has a post in this thread acting like some do not matter. And really slammed a lot of people.

About the 750.00 IMO I would never pay that unless I knew for a fact the walk through would be through the roof. I am advertised on most of the shows I do for free. But that is not the point.

If david did agree to 750 then he should pay it. If he did not then maybe both parties need to have a talk about communication on both parts.

But the post that kinda says that the people on fauna are bad and what not................ The people on fauna are on all the other forums too including reptster. So IMO them comments cut deeper then he thought. If you know what I mean

We are trying to figure how to delete ourselvies from reptster.com

Just send them an Email through their customer service address and ask to be deleted. My account is still active as of this moment and i requested it earlier this afternoon. I am hoping the delay is due to a flood of similar requests.

Gary,
I just wanted to clarify something.

I mentioned in one of my posts that I DID mention a $250 level of sponsorship, but that Mr. Young agreed to the $750 for several reasons. I actually believe it is somewhere in the beginnings of the story. Also, I have stated that the conversations that Mr. Young claims happened where we agreed to $250 were not true and never happened. If you would like, I will gladly go back and find the exact post numbers where these things were said, no problem.

David, I have worked very hard to earn my reputation in this industry. Reputation and trust is earned, not given. A buyer or seller is gauged not on how many sucessful transactions one has, but on how the buyer or seller deals with issues that can arise when something goes wrong.

If the issue is handled professionally, with honesty and integrity than their reputation remains intact.....however....I don't see this boding well for you.

Making light of the members here has really rubbed me the wrong way. You spit in the face of your so called peers, posted fake emails, and then expect to be treated as anything less than a respectable business person? I think not!

You have also spit in the face of a very good friend of mine, Larry Suttles, he is a terrific young man and a great all around guy! Larry sang your praises on Reptile Radio. They have a broad listening base and a dedicated group of hobbiest and some of the big boys. What will they think when this thread is brought to light by the call in's this Saturday night?

"I have not read any of the last posts..."

OUCH! I really spent quite a bit of time and effort trying to craft a post that WOULD be worth reading. But I guess not...

I don't know Kelly, but THOUGHT I knew something about David, just a little, anyway. I really was predisposed to give him the benefit of the doubt, with just a half way good explanation and resolution. But even if everything he said was 100% true (and unfortunately he provided zero proof, other than implying her emails could be fake, which seems to have been disproved, and not disputed by David), it is just not good business, or even logical, to thumb your nose and disrespect people who are genuinely concerned and want to believe in you. Especially not when the solution would have been so easy. It just doesn't add up to what I saw earlier about David and Reptster. But it is what it is. Apparently David feels it is finished.

Now I am a bit embarrassed for the support I have been giving in various threads on various forums, and in emails and the phone. I thought it was warranted, and that Reptster was a real star in the making. But unless something drastic happens to change this situation (and I am not even sure what it could be, after that last disparaging post), I am going to have to kick myself, and be more careful about offering support to seemingly worthy causes in the future.

My usual optimism is a bit crushed right now...

Regardless, It was a straightforward, unbiased post that was worthy to read. Even if it was typed to closed eyes.

Very good point. I forgot about RR.

Fauna Classifieds... Need I say more?

Close my account!

This was sent to support by me at Reptster!

Laura, if it helps, I have seen Larry on here reading this thread, so I know he is aware of what is going on.

I just checked and my account there is still active. Since I was the first to request it be closed, I can only assume that david does not want to see his membership stats go down. Anyone who has requested that their account be cancelled, check preiodically to see if he complies with your request.

Till then, I have a neeat new avatar that everyone is welcome to use.
