In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Frankly, I see some crazy crap from both sides ... from Rick actually picking up a seriously sick snake for the OP and not noticing or contacting anybody, to the OP poking syringes of unconfirmed substance (not to mention dosage) into a sick snake BEFORE he actually takes it to a vet and now Paul's alias. Good grief! Nuts!

I took the liberty of a couple screen shots:

:iagree::iagree:

I also feel bad for the snake. Who knows what that poor critter went through.
This whole thing is turning into a circus.

Wow talk about blind faith!

Do you know the milligrams and cc amount? That alone could be complelty ineffective or kill the snake.

I've tried to stay out of this, however meds being distributed with out the known amount is just inexcusable behavior for both the seller and the buyer.

Can't wait to see those vet reports.

I got to the vets and she had the bill for me. I told her I needed a vet report and she said to come back tomorrow. As for dosages, I checked with the vet and he confirmed the dosage for the Baytril.

I thought your vet gave you Forzan? How did your vet confirm the dosage of Baytril when you never had the bottle showing the concentration?

I have something of a relationship with Dr boyd. I've used the doc for almost 20 years. Not the entire 20 years. I got out of herps for about 4 years. Other than that, I've watched his hair gray more each year. I called him and told him I had a ball python weighiing 1200 grams. What would the proper doage be for Baytril.

Yes, after looking back, I should not have trusted Paul with the Baytril. So in that respect, I was way wrong.

If you all want to know, I should have just taken the snake to Dr Boyd from the very beginning. I put too much trust in Paul and the Baytril. That's my bad.

Dr. Boyd could well have killed your snake himself with his dosage. I have not been impressed with his service. Also, I recently took my Rose-breast Cockatoo, Jasmine in for a very bad molt and the fool said (note without any blood work up nothing but some feathers growing out of her side still sheathed) that she may have Beak and Feather Disease (BFD) and gave me a VASELINE based anointment to rub on her feathers!!! and Medicine...do you think I gave it to her??

Yeah, he is getting old..he needs to retire.:yesnod:

Hey Paul,
You were just viewing this thread a few minutes ago. Why can't you answer the questions?

Steph... do you know Rick? Is he as good as the OP and seller state he is? Would he be able to tell an RI if he saw it?

Yes, I know him...He doesn't live too far from me. Rick is definitely experienced enough to identify an RI. He has a large, eclectic collection...Boids, colubrids, venomous...Above and beyond that, I can't say.

Maybe I missed something... so If I did... then someone correct me.

*Rick took posession for OP
*OP wasn't able to get snake from Rick for a week
*Seller was contacted about RI after OP took possession?

Why wait a week to start treatments if Rick could ID the RI?

Like I said... maybe I missed something... and if I did... I appologize.

I called him and told him I had a ball python weighiing 1200 grams

So you did weigh the snake and know it was at 1200? How many cc's did you administer?

Dr. Boyd could well have killed your snake himself with his dosage
Or not. Remember, Jim had already administered what he believed to be Baytril in the proper dosage .. the weight of the snake was already in question earlier in the thread, I believe. Was the Baytril diluted? How old was it? Does Jim know? Probably not.

I'm not siding with either party .... a beautiful snake is dead because of human error/neglect. But with all due respect, this isn't about Dr. Boyd.

Well, IF the vet is saying that the needles were too tiny to use on the snake, I'd love to know what size needles they are, since I have TEENY needles that were given to me with the prescribed Bayril in them way back when I had a snake with RI. Those TEENY needles went in just fine, and they were given to me by the UF vet college exotic vets. These are vets that treat exotics all the time.. and they gave me tiny needles, and those worked perfectly fine.

Also, there should be no reason that a vet cannot give you a copy of a report, it takes only 5 minutes to pull it and copy it. I get reports all the time from the vet next door where I work and it doesn't take long to pull a record.

Lastly... why would Rick keep a snake for a week with a very bad RI without treating it or informing the buyer? If he's knowledgable, wouldn't he be concerned about a RI laden snake at his place? If he was the middleman, it would be his responsibilty to see the snake and say no, then get the refund or arrange such. I'm certain he's a really good guy.. but that doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Then you got the snake from him, were NOT told the snake was sick then, because you then said you noticed the open mouth breathing 2 days later?

Could you clarify some of that?

As far as the seller sending Baytril, that's a no-no, whether it's done often or not, it's still a vet prescribed med that should not be sent out to another animal. I know, it IS easily given out, and yes it's thus easily gotten by the average Joe. Just because it's done doesn't mean it's right.
At any rate, the seller seems to have a name issue and will probably be banned if he doesn't fix that.

My $0.02.

I doubt Paul will reply to anything thats posted Mine as well BAN that account since no-one is getting any info on the whole name thing

Secondly I seriously doubt your going to see your money ( I hope you do but doubt it)

Third after all this time for waiting for a vet report It might be Falsified hence the fact its taking SO LONG to get (IMO)

I mean there's wholes in the BOTH sides of the story giving resonable doubt to buy any side yet Now a another name pops up for Paul I dont think those retics are going to sell at this rate

After I/we actualy see a Vet report maybe that could clear things up
