In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Having pythons and boas in same room dont mean anything when proper procedures and precautions are taken into consideration.

There are many WELL known ball/boa breeders that keep their collection together in same room, AFTER long QT periods.

She is in my quarantine room. Are your pythons in the same room with your boas?

I changed her water on friday. Then on saturday I feed her a small mouse. Sunday I went to check on her and she was twisted up and looked very dehydrated. That was when I put a moist paper towel in her hide. I left her for a few hours. She did not improve. I then did the water thing that every one is getting so worked up about. Only a slight improvement today, still not acting normal.

All arguing aside, can you detail where the water came from, did you use a clean crock? What about the bedding before this issue arose? Did the container get cleaned?

These are all good questions and should be answered. it might have been one honest mistake. I think if we put all this bickering aside a peaceful resolution can be made.

The water is just tap water. All my other snakes seem ok with it. I am going to switch them reverse osmosis water, but Its hard for me to carry the big container up the stairs at the moment. The bedding I use is just free newspapers.

I am really trying to understand, Thomas...she's in the rack with the rest of your snakes, or she's in quarantine? You showed a video tonight and said she was in QT, no?

Hey, not trying to be a dick but why force the water? I mean I cant understand that? You know the snakes are more so active at night and would probably have sought water then? Im just upset cause we have a big heart for reptiles and it sucks to see a beautiful snake just flop around.

I don't know what went wrong with her. Wish I did. Rob have you checked on your recently to see if anything is up?

The killer bee is in quarantine has always been.

I know me also. I am really upset about this. I just added the videos my camera is low on memory

Ive had a Ball last year arrive to me freezing, due to she pissed on the heat pack causing it to stop working during winter.

She arrived with no ability to control her head and it stayed like this for 2 weeks. I kept her at a lower temp and increased it slowly day by day. And eventually she came back around and was back to normal.

Heat/Cold shock can be permanent in the snakes equilibrium causing what you see happening or over time correct its self and go back to normal behavior and live fine for many many years. Neurological distress takes time to recover from if its not too far set in.

But, Rich....do you think it's possible that it takes three weeks to present itself, then it does so dramatically?

I have suggested all along that something went wrong on Saturday or Sunday. The drastic change is the main reason I decided to bring the issue to the discussion forum (that, and the tube-feeding of water to a snake that was 'healthy' and ate on its own the day before).

Thomas, I am going to bed. Thanks, all, for your input so far.

Thats helpful. Lets see how she is tomorrow and what the vet says. Im trying to think what shock she went though? If that was the case wouldn't some of the other balls on the same rack have similar problems? I have some vanillas in an older rack with an on off thermostat. The probe fell out and it got really got. Like to 120. They are absolutely fine right now. Thats why I'm saying a small disrupting in husbandry is not going to cause a severe issue. It's got to be a developmental problem.

No if there was a problem with the shipment, the snake would of expressed such behaviors of overheating that night and even as soon as he pulled her out. Something changed in her behavior for feeding her to the next day.

Was the mouse contaminated with some kind of chemical at the breeding facility just before being gassed. You will never know!
