In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Vincent Russello, attempting a scam

Vince,

Two things:

First; does your camera have a flash?

Second; can you open two screens (webpages) at the same time on your computer? If so Open Fauna twice and have one opened to the first post and picture by Seamus and on the second open E2MacPets (6th page of this post) with the same photo fixed. Then take your leo to the screen and see which one it looks like.

the first one is brighter then normal , and the altered one from e2 is washed out. its hard to take a good pic of this leo with my PC cam. it doesnt even have a window to check the photos that i have take.

a poor quality one but yes. whats the point of this, this convo would be alot easyer threw an Instant message. or even PM

The corrected photo that Steve posted looks suspiciously like every photo of the animal Vince has posted, with the single exception of the one he had listed first on his auction.

Can't have it both ways Vince, either the first photo is inaccurate and you were trying to rip people off by using it or the other four or five pictures you have posted aren't accurate.

You suggested at one point that I correct the color balance on my monitor... Since MANY people see the difference in color between photo number one and every other picture, perhaps YOU should adjust YOUR monitor. You took a nice, kinda orangey animal with a brighter orange patch on it's tail and turned it screaming glowing red. Then tried to sell the animal with this image... if you can't see what's morally wrong with the entire situation then you're too far gone to help.

I'd just think that taking the picture in an open well lit room (as opposed to what looks like the laundry room with a light that causes most everything around it to look orange or red) with the flash would have eliminated all this post. Why would you try to control the environment so much when taking this picture? Of the two pictures I had you look at which is closer to reality?

Ok vince put your money where your mouth is. Ship me the gecko, if it looks like the first pic you posted of him(attached) when he arrives and after he sheds I will give you $500 for him. If he does not look like that picture the truth will be put out there and the truth will really be for everyone to see. Are you willing to do that?

Also the picture that was posted by E2 was not enhanced, it was actually unenhanced to get the true color of the animal and picture and get rid of the RED hue that was cast on the animal and everything else.

if this was a scam why would i readily take so many new photos for everyone? if i had proper lighting the secondary photos would also show rich red coloration.

Uhhhhhhhhh....so SHIP Rob the animal and collect your $500!

Seems pretty simple if the Gecko is truly that Red.......or is it?

TC

however, I can do this, for 1,000 i can sell you this leo , with a signature contract stating that if the gecko is not a deep rich red color from head to tail i will refund your money in total

I apologize for posting so vaguely and not making my self clearer on this sooner. I have been quite ill the past few days and am still not feeling much better. To be honest I havent felt much like doing anything but kneeling in front of the toilet, praying to the porcelin god.
YES, the gecko does look very familiar to me. Yes, I have produced a number of geckos very similar to that as well, from a Golden line which was from original Golden Gecko stock. And finally Yes, I did leave good feedback on Vince as we had a trade deal that went very well. I recieved some pond equipment from Vince that was top notch, represented perfectly, and delievered when he said he would. I was, and still am very happy with the trade deal. However, I sent Vince some half dozen Leopards for the equipment, one VERY similar if I recall to the one in question. Unfortunately, I can't positively identify it one way or the other as I don't keep too many pics of any sold geckos that arn't truly unique or highend. It would be up to Vince if he wanted to admit that came fom us or not. As for the 3 pics on the first page of this thread, it's almost like comparing night to day, staggering differences in all three. The first and most obvious pic the 'super red' gecko. I don't have any cats at the time, but it was stated the pic was taken on a kittly litter box, with the little pieces of substrate being kittly litter??? I'm not sure as I just stated I don't have any cats, but when did kitty litter start coming in fashionable pink colors? The second pic I think TRULY shows the color of the animal, nothing to special but yes a nice looking gecko. The third pic kid of throws me as being someone who has had a few geckos it just doesn't make sense. Take a close look at the tail in the second pic and in the third pic. If you notice it seems as if the 'carrot' in the tail has significantly changed and become brighter and more prominent, this of course could be my monitor, or me not eating for the past couple days. Anyhow it smells like a tuna that has beached itself in the hot sun, FISHY to say the least. Anyhow it's back to bed with my sick self, if I don't make it I will leave all my geckos to you Seamus for your ferret work!
Sincerly,
Mike B.

Vince... if the picture that people have problems with wasn't edited or the result of highly deceptive lighting...

Why are the pieces of stray Cat Litter bright orange?

first of all , i hope you feel better. and yes out trade did go very very well, the best dealling i have done to date. I love the geckos I got from you and have eggs from the two adult females that where a part of it. I am very excited to get some babys from these geckos that are my pets. I can say that this is defently not your male golden gecko, he is much bigger. I will post a pic of them together if it is your request.

Heh, posted the same time Mike was typing, similar trains of thought with regards to the cat litter.

If you die and I get all your geckos, won't Erica be a bit irked? Would I be allowed to add the word "crepuscular" to your website? If I hire someone to finish the job just to collect your animals, does it violate this non-legally binding joke will?

Thanks for the clarification Sir, get better quick, otherwise you might be late for work.

most likely reflective light from the yellow bulb in the basking lamp

Good idea

"I will post a pic of them together if it is your request."

Good idea

post a group pic with the Leos from Mother Gecko along with your "Red" gecko. The folks from Mother Gecko know the colors sent to you and your "Red" leo will stick out of the bunch because of the color. Thus ending all the speculation.
