Reptster.com experience with show sponsorship not good

I have plenty of friends that either don't like or won't refuse to use Fauna. Thats fine , I've NEVER been so delicate that it bothers me if folks don't like everything I do or like myself. But if I hold myself to certain standard , I will hold everyone else that I deal with to that same standard at a minimum. I WILL NOT give anyone a free pass just because I may save $10 shipping an animal. Reptster gets held to the standards as everyone else.

There are frequently discussions that occur as byproducts of the main theme in BOI threads. While some may be put out by David's comments about the BOI, and the people that post here, I suspect that relatively few have lost sight of your issues. Even if they did, the REAL problem has been re-iterated multiple times by various people...and, whether you choose to agree or not, that problem may well go beyond YOUR situation in they eyes of many here.
The concern over this being a possible indicator of how David will address customer service issues in the future - especially those that concern money - is something that will not be taken lightly. The decisions that people are making - here, in this thread, and as a result of it - are because of their response to David not dealing with the issue at hand. Consider it a form of moral support.

While I do see where you are coming from, I guess the issue here is with a select few people not seeing what David did with his post. He almost won. He was slick enough to respond to the issue at hand some made up emails to try to show how "easy" it is to fake things (which he was called out on), one small paragraph of lies of so-called proof of his stance on the issue (which he was called out on), then turned the entire focus onto his dislike/disrespect for the BOI and those who post on it. Smart man if you think about it. It took the attention for SOME (not ALL) from how he handles business transactions (or the possibility of how he will handle them in the future) to his disdain for something that many have come to love (for lack of a better term) and respect (the BOI). I am NOT saying the people who have seemed to have shifted focus to that issue are not supporting us or the issue at hand, but I think it is being done in a round-about, and maybe not intentional, way. I can point out SOME who have specifically stated that they will not deal with Reptster services because of his disrespect to the BOI and it's members, and that it the ONLY reason they state they are boycotting him and his services. Are they wrong in their thinking? No.

And maybe we (Matthew and I) are just seeing things in a different way because we HAVE been screwed by him, and it HAS hurt us and our show in ways that most may not realize. We were counting on that money, and we have had to figure out how to make up for it. We are not rich people, Matthew makes decent money, but he also supports a family of 7 on that money, so there is not a lot of extra to go around, if any, so any extra out of pocket expenses we had needed to be covered, and that was part of what we were counting on with Mr. Young's sponsorship. We have had to cancel plans for things we really wanted to do because we were counting on that money to fund those activities, including a radio station coming out to do a remote broadcast to help advertise things the very day of the show. Has anyone ever looked into how much that costs? WELL over $750. We DID put out extra money to advertise Reptster, although some might not think so - we had to totally redo our fliers (we had plenty without his name on them), which cost us money, including the cost of going from black and white to color (it's a big difference). It was a lot of time invested that could have been spent in other ways towards the show. And all he needed to do was send us a simple email.

Maybe we have seen a pattern here that has yet to be acknowledge in what he did with Mr. Sanders and the snake deal. Did no one else notice the time frame? Did no one else realize he was telling Mr. Sanders that he did not have the funds to pay him in July after he agreed that he would send funds to us for the sponsorship? Look at the dates. It is all out there. But people have been so wrapped up in other things that Mr. Sanders' issue has yet to even be mentioned by anyone than Mr. Sanders himself, and by Matthew.

Maybe we are concerned that there are other people out there who have had this happen to them. There was already mention of another entity who was "tricked into advertising without paying for it" by Chuck WAY in the beginning, and no one seemed to pick up on it, or at least acknowledge that they did. Doesn't anyone wonder what is going on with that?

Didn't anyone else notice how Steve J was posting about the issues with discrepancies in shipping weights? I mean really, if Mr. Young charged (for example) Steve $10 for shipping, and FedEx only charged Mr. Young $5, isn't Steve entitled to that difference so MAYBE he can choose to give it back to his customer, or maybe cover shipping materials costs that he normally doesn't think about, especially with such a nice discount? I am only using Steve as an example because he pointed out the differences. I have no idea what he would have done with the refund.

I guess I personally feel that too much of the shift has been sent towards Mr. Young's insults of the BOI and it's members by some people, and the ISSUES (yes, plural) that he has caused people are starting to slip under the radar faster and faster. THAT is what is bothering me the most.

You don't need repster to get the discounts. My contract says I can not reveal what my discounts are~ but I can disclose that I get discounts and they are better than repsters. Get certified~ it's easy. Call your rep and explain that you should be entitled to discounts because you are not entitled to the garantees ~ explain how much money the animals your shipping are worth and that because of your contract you are not entitled to any compensation if they lose or mangle a box. Be NICE about it. The rep will be nice about it if you are and will find discounts for you. Then~ honor your agreement and don't try to make any claims if (WHEN) they screw up a box or deliver it late.

Good point Cheryl. My discounts are also way better than Repster's. I signed up on the site and when trying to navigate the shipping section to see sample rates (this was in the early days of the site), somehow got boxes sent to me. I never used them and if David tells me the cost I will Paypal him the money for the boxes. I am also going to ask that my account be deleted as well.

The fastest and surest way seems to be posting the " Ban Reptster " pic as your avatar. I had sent request to have my account terminated yesterday with no effect. Less than an hour of adding the ban pic as my avatar and profile wallpaper my account received an IP ban and was terminated.

I think I was a couple hours early but I gave them a day roughly. I did see a screen shot on another site of the Reptster mainpage with 5 or so ban pics as newly posted avatars. I couldn't make out the screen names but it seems the response posted by David is being taken very seriously.

Not really. He lives about a half hour from me and I checked him out with some friends in Tampa. Apparently he tried to get in on the Ball Python craze right at the peak. That obviously did not work out too well. Other than that...nothing much on him in the industry.

I think Repster was swirling around the bowl before any of this started.

Imagine trying to be the middle man in between Fedex and low paying end users. I can't imagine there is that much room for profit while starting a new business and giving away supplies, marketing, starting a forum, etc.

Sounds like money troubles have been brewing for a while. I don't think the "ban" is going to do anything that hasn't been set in motion already. It just might make it happen more quickly.

As a new company tries to find their way to a profitable existence, they can sometimes lose a couple dollars on each deal. Then--as their popularity increases--they lose more and more money. Really---could Repster be making more than a couple dollars per package?

by David trying to put the focus on the BOI instead of his debt with you is all of a parcel. If treats you in this fashion how is he going treat anyone else that does business with him should a problem arise?

Your unresolved issue with him stopped the camel, the slap to his customer base here broke it's back.

Sorry if you think the focus isn't on your issue, but I believe they are connected, so in reality the focus is where it should be. I'm sure he has no intention of making anything right with you, so what better way for him to get what he deserves but to get kicked where it really hurts: in the wallet.

Hope you see that, in my eyes anyways, we're on your side with this!

I have never been one to hold my tongue on anything but I can't officially say what I would normally so I just I will just say that David that was ridiculous. Leaving the people here waiting for you to respond in a dignified manner addressing the problem at hand only to be thrown that load. He has shown some true colors that I just refuse to ignore.

I will not and can not take the chance that personally I have an issue and this is how I am treated with a response full of dribble only after multiple attempts to get one.

Terry, is there anything that you won't blame on Kelly? She was stiffed on a promised payment. Whether you agree or not with how much she asked is irrelevant. David agreed to pay the $750 and didn't. No matter how much you try to make Kelly the bad guy, it just doesn't fly. Give it a rest man, it's making you look bad every time you post and defend David.

Thanks for the response. I thought maybe some of the support given to David in the beginning (and continued support by some) may have been based on some previous business in the industry...But evidently it wasn't.

I can not believe that a show promoter is trying to crush a new show that isn't even competition in the area. You should be supporting and encouraging new shows. It's good for everyone in the industry!

If I was local to your show, you'd be darn sure I would not support it and be sure to avoid it at all costs based on your behavior here and general attitude.
