• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Kimberly Lucas Gorgeousgecko.com con artist!!

The offer of the dalmation wasn't completely out of the blue because the buyer had shown interest in it before the original sale. So it's not a case of her offering a gecko he would hate. Of course, that's a rather minor point. The value of the offer is entirely in the eyes of the buyer and if he thinks it's not good enough, then that is his prerogative, of course.

I agree with those that say it's a lame attempt to fix things...but as I pointed out earlier...typing out pages of what WE think would be a better offer seems rather pointless. At this point, the buyer will either end up with a $450 plain gecko....or a $450 plain and dalmation gecko. Wishing it were otherwise won't make it so.

But who knows...maybe she'll read all this and finally realize what a huge mistake she's making. Is her rep worth a few bucks? Up to her.

She has been monitoring this thread for quite some time today and has not communicated......I guess she is just going to ignore us.

This is very simple to me but for some reason few of you are refusing to understand what my POLICY is. I don't issue cash refunds. period. I am not the only one in this business or many other business for that matter with this policy.
Regardless if you think I am right or wrong with regards to my policy. It doesn't matter. It is clearly stated and reminders are posted on every ad and most the pages of the site because it is important to know the policies before you buy.
I have never said I wouldn't work with you Brian, you just think for some reason you can re-write my business policies to fit what you want. and you also seem to think you can insult me accuse me of lying and I'm just going to sit there and take it.

I asked you what compensation you were looking for and the number that you threw out was what I took as what I should give you in credit.
I have offered the exact gecko you showed interest in purchasing and you have shot that down and now consider it a less than acceptable offer because you think it's not hurtin me enough, right? Or did I just read into that wrong? It just kinda all came into perspective when you posted my email and the offer (which you failed to mention I sent before I received your apology btw.) and started asking everyone else what they think. Why did you even send me a "private email"? and why didn't you post my private response?
You broke my policies about posting issues on forums, you broke the BOI policies by posting slanderous remarks in the title line.....
Seriously?
What is this about for you because I have gone rounds and rounds trying to get it. Every offer gets shot down with a bunch of insults attached to it.
It just seems to me you want to cause a lot of drama and you definitly picked the place to do it.
Just so you know... when you produce many many many dalmations and only a small % turn out having the ideal mix of spots and color and structure, that has value, and to give that away is taking $ out of my pocket.
But it seems to me the goal is to go way further than that and to drag this out as long as you can get the audience and drag my name through the mud whie doing it. I have had hundreds of transactions with people and never come across anything like this. It is shameful that this is how our industry handles it's issues.

You can debate my intentions all you want but it was a valid, generous offer. I am taking it buy the comments that you are turning it down.

You claim all i want to do is "drag this out as long as you can get the audience and drag my name through the mud whie doing it", but when i send you private emails trying to resolve this (1 hour ago) you ignore me and come here to respond. Go check your email, reply to me there, we can resolve this right now, in private, and this thread need not go one post further.

WOW, One hour ago... and silly me trying to cook dinner for my kids and finish at least one response to his thread I didn't hop to it quick enough for you.

There you go making yourself look even worse.......how about instead of posting your childish replies you go "hop" to that email of his and respond to it.

your profile has said you've been watching this thread non stop since i sent it, i apologize if you havent been at your computer, by all means, care for your family. But from our previous communications i know your get your emails instantly on your phone, so please dont act like i havent tried contacting you recently to resolve this, or that i refused your offer. Neither is true. So please, feed your children, help them with homework, tuck them into bed, do whatever you need to do for your family. But dont accuse me of dragging this out in public when you have yet to respond to a private email.

An animal that's CB in a facility doesn't have "0" value, if that were true most reptile breeders would be millionaires by now. There are costs associated with the production of each and every animal (i.e. labor, utilities, feeders, etc.). Besides the price tag is oftentimes determined by the market value. If you give away an animal that could bring you $400 if sold, then that's its dollar value. In other words, money not made that could have been made is lost income.

It boggles the mind how a seller expects ANYONE to want to do business with them when they go out of their way to state that even if things go wrong or the animal isn't what was represented, they will never see a dime of their money back. A blanket prohibition of cash refunds isn't something "reputable" breeders do, I don't know who this seller thinks she's fooling. It's something that "garage breeders that are living Paypal to paycheck and foolishly spend money before customers are happy" do, we've seen it a thousand times before.

This is exacerbated by the fact that it was quite a long time from the initial transaction that the buyer expressed displeasure, but it's obvious that they have not gotten what they paid for, and they were giving the SELLER the benefit of the doubt the whole time! A lousy $150 cash refund in this situation isn't reused because you WON'T give it, it's because you CAN'T get it... because you've already spent it on God knows what and run your business on a shoestring.

Please tell me I'm wrong?

Nope, its plain she doesnt have the cash to give a refund, a fact that had she been willing to man up and say, i would have been understanding of.

Policies, like rules, are there as guidelines. Going by your policy, you could send a picture of Gecko A and send Gecko B to the buyer and say oh well, sorry, no refunds. I have been selling Balls for awhile now, and when someone sends me their money, I keep it in an account until the deal is Finished. Finished to me means, the snake is the one they ordered, it looks like the pictures or looks better, it is eating for them...they are happy with the purchase. I have seen several lame sellers hide behind their TOS and Policies. Again, TOS should be a guide, not a rule set in stone. Your name has now been added to the above mentioned lame sellers that hide behind their TOS and Policies. Congrats.

Dave

An agreement (if you can call it that) has been reached, i will post final details and resolution on Tuesday august 31st.

If a deal has been reached, why are you continuing to post? :shrug01:

The pictures i received from her were obviously overexposed or otherwise altered to make the gecko appear white, as i have had him a month and a half and he has never been anything close to white.

i even sent her pictures of this gecko, next to my WHITE gecko, to show her how not white he was. Despite the lighting in the room washing out alot of his color he was obviously not white at all.

Email me a copy of the pics... both your photo of her gecko and your photo of her gecko... and then the pics she took.

I look at thier historgram and tell you if they were over exposed. I'll even screenshot the histogram to prove it if requested.

I really appreciate it, but at this point it doesnt much matter how she got a pic of him looking pure white...

maybe no editing took place after the photo was taken, but its very easy to turn the exposure up on the camera and make the gecko look white that way. I bet i can do it right now and post a pic of it.

Here is what jumped out at me.... and Im big into photography.

* Exposure Time (1 / Shutter Speed) {0x829A} = 1/125 second ===> 0.008 second
* Lens F-Number / F-Stop {0x829D} = 56/10 ===> ƒ/5.6
* Exposure Program {0x8822} = manual control (1)
* ISO Speed Ratings {0x8827} = 1600

Why in the world are you shooting at ISO 1600!!!! That lets in so much light its not funny... and there is no way that a shutter speed of 1/125 and f/5.6 is going to compensate for that much light.

When I was photographing wolves in the woods at dusk I never got higher than ISO 1000 with a Nikon D80.

So Keven, shooting the ISO @ 1600 would cause that picture to wash?

And apparently you have absolutely no idea what exif data is exactly. Not only does it detail the pictures statistics from the camera itself but also any software that was used on it. Usually a telltale sign that we all look for in the exif data is a section that specifies the use of photoshop or other similar programs. And as you can see in the data, not one single entry of it states that editing software was used.

I agree that the gecko is nothing like the original pictures, but those original pictures are just that, original and unaltered.

and you also posted this in your data

* Software / Firmware Version {0x0131} = Picasa 3.0

Now im not sure what all Picasa is capable of since I only use PS... but softare was used at some point.

Hello... I made an offer. $150 credit (more geckos) He was willing to take $150 cash and keep the gecko so I really don't see how $150 of geckos is such an insult. I think he just wants to be a jerk.
I would have been open to further converstaion but it's been over a month and this was how I was contacted. A link to this thread.

If you have an unhappy customer... why would he want to do business with you again. Especially if your unwilling to make it right in his mind. That is the difference between $150 of his hard earned dollars vs $150 of your store credit.
