rich, for you to do anything other than support owens wouldn't make you much of a leader.
You keep referring to the comparison between mods here and real cops. Dennis is a real cop, I'm not sure about Ken. The rest have either paid for their mod status or are your friends. The comparison between mods and actual law enforcement officers, Dennis and Ken not included in this, hardly holds water when you look at it realistically. There ARE minimum standards, training and firm guidelines for law enforcement. I don't believe any of those are present for mods. If you look you will also see that the ACTUAL cops have pretty much left me alone. Interesting, isn't it?
THIS isn't real life, it's an internet forum. There are a great many inconsistencies here that would not be tolerated by real law enforcement. We both, we all, know the truth there.
So, instead of constantly trying to make this all about me, why don't you look at the other side of the coin. SOME of your mods do not do the wonderful job that your cops do. You must know this. I am not alone in my feelings. Others have also stated on this site that they feel much the same as I do.
It doesn't really matter, as I said this is just a forum on the internet not real life, it just bugs me to see things touted as being one way when I and others see them as another. I have spoken of it from long ago so it should be no surprise that I continue to speak on it when I see it.
I am certainly not surprised by owens' actions, nor dands nor Dennis' or Harald's or John's, be they excellent examples or not.
I suppose I could have less to say about things going one way this time and another way that time but, as I said, it sort of bugs me to see it prettied up and called par for the course and only to be expected when it is niether par nor consistent enough to actually be expected. Don't get me wrong, I've always said that I am no example to hold up to anyone, I'm no saint and I know it but that does not negate the points I make about things not being as fairly/consistently enforced as is made out.
I know you say you guys can't read every post by every member, but it seems some of you can read every post by SOME members. When transgressions are made by different members in the same post, some are overlooked. To me, just me, that seems wrong. You don't have to agree with me, but that doesn't change my opinion.
It seems that you keep trying to make it out like I'm asking for some special dispensation. I'm not. While I do occasionally just slip up, I generally know exactly what I write. I also know exactly what I read. Sometimes I read something that could have been written by me but wasn't that gets no notice at all officially.
You know and I know that all of this is just nonsense. I feed it. Then you feed it. Sometimes I wonder why I bother to be bothered when it obviously bothers you not at all, and yet, still I am bothered by the lack I see.
If no one tests the checks and balances, how do you know they're valid and in good working order? If those checks and balances fail the tests, should they be improved or should the tests be stopped or reduced to the point that the checks and balances then appear to function?
It's late and I've said quite a bit. I reckon its enough for now.
