Last week of December 2009 through May 7, 2010.
Anytime previous to that you were on vacation and I was house sitting while you were in FLA on vacation and I was caring for your animals.
YOU were staying here longer than that... Corey hadn't moved down yet and was still in Dallas and you were making regular trips up there to see him, but you still had half your animals and yourself staying down here at our house
We did not supply our new address due to the odd things that happened once you learned we had secured a lease for our new place.
That simply sounds like avoiding the situation... And making sure that we don't know where you are... Which we do, BTW
Dents and Dings... You have more than a few pieces of large furniture, and cages, not to mention guest that go down to that area of the house to use the restroom, or look at snakes. With your house being newer, we always took caution when moving anything. Not to mention I recall Ryan showing me more than a few things that were not on the inspection report.
Yes, I understand dents and dings happen, which is why I'm not making a BIG deal out of it... I mentioned it, yes... And there were a couple small dings prior to y'all moving in, yes, I didn't say they ALL appeared when y'all moved in, but some did...
Those were also your rabbits, not only mine, in the livingroom, which you never fed, watered, or cleaned. They all eventually were moved to the garage once a few more were acquired. After removing the rabbits from the garage, Ryan told us not to worry about that mess - he wanted to try out his power washer he was about to buy.
I also recall you letting the rabbits run around the house for extended periods of time, while you let Koda chase them around and grab with his mouth.
3 of those rabbits were mine, yes... And YOU stated that you wanted to take care of the rodent breeding... I supplied food, bedding and financial support for the, as well as you, but you said you were taking care of them primarily... But yes, I DID feed and water them. And Koda liked to play with them, yes, but it was never in harm.. He plays with the cats the same way and you know this...
The carpet in the closet was not a full solid piece and was used to patch the 'mysterious square' with your permission.
All the damages you are mentioning are also in common areas of the house - we should not be held liable for something someone else may have done.
The carpet WAS a solid piece, and I already posted pics of it... We did NOT give you permission to patch anything and the "patched" spot is NOT a patch... It is STILL ATTACHED to the floor... It's a piece of carpet that is CUT, not PATCHED... And please explain to me why an approx. 5" square piece would need a foot long patch anyway if that was the situation?? The only spot on the carpet that we had ever talked about patching was the spot in MY snake room where a hole was burned in my carpet... We had talked about how to fix it and Corey had suggested a patch... But we never patched it, just left it there... The "patch" in question is in the room y'all were using for your snakes and the huge cut out piece was in your snake room closet
Also, your house was not new when you moved in. It did have previous owners and was at least a few years old when you moved in.
The only damage I partially agree on is the carpet in front of the bedroom door, Koda was the one who started that - trying to get in at night, or while we were eating.
The house was built in 2005, yes, and yes, it had a previous owner, but you know what happened with the house because we told you... EVERYTHING in the house had been replaced, repainted and was brand new... And you never told me about Koda digging at your door... If you had, I wouldn't have even brought up the fraying on that door
A feed order of $472.75, with us paying at least $380 of is not even close to 50/50. We didn't say anything when you fed our live chick we were planning raising up for a bit to one of your animals. Not to mention we keep detailed inventory of our feed items. I also made it VERY clear before I ordered the feeders that I needed the bulk of them, you only contributed $100 cash for them, given to me at the NARBC expo before I picked up the food. I let you in on this order as a courtesy because you said you needed some food. I paid $80 cash that day, with the rest going through paypal.
We paid more than that, but it was cash so obviously I don't have a paypal receipt... And you paid that much up front because you couldn't afford anymore and I paid you our half in cash... You had a couple more packs than I did, yes... But we still split that order at least 60-40 with myself having mostly the larger rats
Interesting you need our money to pay off your credit card debit, yet you are purchasing more animals and can afford a pricey toy for your car.
We don't NEED it to pay off the credit card... We charged the bills to our credit card that you were suppose to pay us and in turn we pay off that credit card charge... I don't see what it matter what I spend my money on since I can afford to comfortably... YOU owe us money, period.
About the turtles, did you ever get the pond going? We would like the tank, stand, pumps, filter, and the air filter back. You can continue to enjoy the paper shredder and commander remote control - you will get more use out of them than us.
No, I did not get the pond going yet... Your filter broke before y'all left, you knew this... I had to vacuum out that tank weekly and it stunk up the house... A friend took it and washed it out, if you want it, I can give you her contact info as I do not have a truck
We would also like the rock pictured here with kinky
Take the rock... I don't know why you didn't before you left?? I could care less about a rock, LOL
I think the bills are the only issue here. If you return the above property, and agree to the timeframe we have provided, we can come to terms for 'rent'. This is to include only the utilities we agreed to pay, minus the $75 you sold the bowfront aquarium for.
$897 is the amount owed... As soon as I get that amount of money, then we will be happy and drop the conversation... I could care less about your little rock or tank... Take them... I don't know why you didn't already other than the fact you don't want to pay what you owe...
The photo is legitimate. We came home one night to find ourselves locked out for the first time ever. This was the day of or after we had informed them we had signed a lease. Almost every light in the house was on and you could hear all kinds of frantic actions. I can think of one reason for this, but will not mention it.
Three to five minutes later they unlocked the door and let us in. They were acting somewhat odd... The next day we went to check our animals. One was missing... We looked very thoroughly in the snake room (ours), bedroom, bathroom, washroom, next room was their snakeroom. And for the first time ever the door was locked.
This can be done accidentally, so we didn't think anything of it at the moment. Since this was (until now) a common area, we unlocked the door. After searching under and behind everything, we started checking every bin. Eventually we found our animal in with a new acquisition of Ashley's. The bin also did not have a water bowl for whatever reason.
We decided to leave the animal there for the moment. We then decided to reserve a truck for the next morning and get everything out, and document our findings.
Exif data shows the picture was taken on May 5th around 9pm.
The photo is not legit... you may have taken a photo of your boa in my snake room, but we did not place that animal there... And yes, we did start keeping the snake room locked, and we STILL DO... If you remember, I had started dealing with a custody battle with my mother and the snakes were a big issue with her, so we started keeping the snake room door locked to get in the habit for when my son moved down and that my mother could not use it against me... Also we were trying to make sure everything was straight so that I could take pics and send them to my lawyer as proof... And our snake room was NOT a common area... the only times that we asked you to go in there was if I was not home, like when I went up to PA to visit my son so that you could insure that everyone was good... None of your animals were in that room after Ruby passed away and Moose was no longer in there breeding her and the only thing I can think of that you may have needed in there was feeding tongs, which was fine, but that wasn't a room that was a common area... Those were our animals only...
Although this room did not house any of our animals, it was until the last few days, a communal area, we frequently checked on and tended to their animals. Never was that room a place for our animals.
The only times you tended to our animals were in December while we were in Florida and April when I was in PA...
I find it very coincidental that this animal was our smallest and highest valued animal. It magically escapes a bin that requires two hands to remove, slithers to another room, climbs up three bins and squeezes itself into a closed bin in the middle of a stack, with no water, heat and a roommate.
I also think it is interesting that none of our animals have 'escaped' since we moved here, like they frequently did while living with you.
Ok, so it's not $300, lol... But still not that expensive of an animal and if I wanted one I would buy one... And I would buy one that is, IMO, a better looking jungle... Yes, he has some nice color, but I like highly aberrant jungles... Highest valued? I doubt that... What about your skinny hypo arab het snow or your suris or several others that are valued at more than a little poss het albino hypo jungle, lol... And how about you post the video? Where you pretend to unlock the door of our snake room with a knife, which isn't possible to do with this type of lock, go in and go directly to the bin that he was "hidden in"... Obviously it was staged... The only other animal that escaped while here was your rainbow boa and it was because you hadn't closed the bin properly... and she was found cruising in the front room by Kinky's cage a couple days later...
You can't breed rats without the smell - even changing the bedding every three days. The rats were inside for a short period of time, most of the time they were in the garage and eventually outside along with the rabbits. The rats and rabbits you did not feed or water daily, fyi after we got the rabbits here, three of them died that day from starvation, dehydration and possibly stress from moving.
Those rabbits were fed, watered and cared for... YOU did most of the care for the rodents, so if any died it was your fault, not mine... And the rats didn't stink when Corey changed the bedding every week... it was when it went a couple weeks without changing that it got disgusting and made my house smell like ammonia... I didn't care about the smell once they moved to the garage and then outside...
The caging we have is adequate for all of our animals at present and in the future, we were speaking long term future. All of our animals are well cared for, healthy and frequently handled.
I don't see keeping a 10ft retic in a 4ft cage proper caging... maybe it's just me... or larger female boas in 71qt bins... You may have moved them around a little bit now, but still... It may be "OK" by you, but I prefer to allow my animals some roam room and room to stretch out better...
There is no disagreement on the fact we stayed there and have outstanding debt in regards to this, the dates and damages are up for dispute.
Ok, so it's agreed that you owe us at least the $897 in bills... So pay us what you at least you admit you owe us... Most of the damages are now fixed anyway other than the carpet...
When Koda attacked my husband twice in one day and destroyed his 'PT' pants, we did not ask you to replace them, things happen - and we move on. We also didn't say anything when you offered up a barely weaned finch to kaylee, which she fatally injured.
Would you like a pair of PT shorts? We have several if it's that big a deal... And I didn't "offer" a finch to the cat... The bird flew around, like several birds had done before and she saw it and grabbed it before Corey or I could
